    New to the game!

    Just one metformin a day which is probably now doing nothing. I had the normal dn nurse with a straight in “it will get worse and you will end up injecting insulin” - I intend to prove her wrong but shall start the proper testing regime. My one vice and love is bread but have mended my ways!!

    Has anyone had experience of purchasing their test strips/lancets from Amazon and how they reclaimed VAT. At present I use Boots online for Acciuchek cassettes and lancets and it’s simple and a good offer

    Just purchased a Accu Check Mobile - appears simple. Problem is my fist HBA1C reading was 6.9 which reduced to 6.1 after 2 months and much weight loss. The meter registers in Mmol - how can you convert the two? Why do matters become so difficult?

    There appears to be many conflicting thoughts. I lost 4 stone (from nearly 18 to just under 14) using my own method of looking at tins etc. and attempting to work out total carbs. Sometimes a lunch of tinned mackerel and salad gives virtually no carbs then maybe a snack of a granary bread roll...
