    Labour Manifesto. Diabetes.

That is a real shame about the Batman outfit, men in lycra can be so cute. ;) I have been informed that MPs pay more attention to letters than petitions. A properly written letter demands a reply, if the reply is unsatisfactory, you write again. I do not know how many members we have on here...

I have just been on the telephone to these people, the woman just read from a script which was full of 'CYA' (cover your a***). The revolution will have to wait another day. Good luck with your DN appt.

    Hi, I'm new.

Hi @Johnny-45, and welcome. Have a good read of the various threads, follow the links and read more. Before you know it, it will be bedtime and you will be better armed to control your diabetes and tackle your GP. Knowledge is power.

    Labour Manifesto. Diabetes.

It is up to us to lobby and advise our elected representatives. I knew very little about how to deal with diabetes prior to my diagnosis, I thought it was just about sugar. The education about controlling/preventing diabetes has to spread from us. I shall be writing to my MP after the election...

Sugar free soft drinks / mixers with NO ASPARTAME!

We did the plj challenge years ago, drink a glass of plj, (man, was that sharp) and it was meant to curb your sweet tooth. Nah, we could eat meringues and Scottish tablet.

    Type 2 sharps bin

I am testing regularly and I reckon it will take a long time to fill my sharps bin. I was presuming my medical practice would take care of it for me.

I can eat bread again! *EDIT No I can't!*

Luckily I have a Morrisons nearby so am going to have a look for this bread, however you can buy in bulk from the website. Just need to have enough room in the freezer. http://www.livlifefoods.co.uk/

    What have you eaten today?

I worked a night shift last night so struggle to decide when yesterday ends and today starts. No breakfast as I was sleeping, grabbed some nuts to eat at the football. Teatime was normal ish so had cauliflower and broccoli a gratin. Have a cheese and egg salad and strawberries and cream for my...

    Ghee

I was looking at ghee tonight and discovered it contained virtually no carbs and it is high fat. How fantastic is that? I feel a cauliflower and spinach curry coming on this week, who cares about the rice (Ok, I am bluffing about that one). Any other ideas for using ghee?

    carbs

@kazlincs I agree with @Daks , read up on the lchf regime and Nike it (ie just do it). It will be hugely challenging, you may despair that you will never eat 'normal food' ever again. After a week or so your bs levels drop and your perception of what 'normal food' Is changes. Embrace the change...

    Asda carb blocker

I spotted carb blockers in Asda, they are xls brand priced at £17. I read the leaflet distribution inside and they do not recommend them to be taken by diabetics.

Hi and welcome to the forum @morradichi. Positivity and taking control is, in my opinion, crucial. There will be days when enthusiasm drops but they pass. Lots of information and advice here. Good luck on your journey.
