    Music Fan?

I feel your pain @chris lowe , my late husband was a guitarist and switched allegiances from bluegrass to swing. Much as I admire Django, listening to someone learning this type of music is not fun. He literally had to change everything about his style of play. I called it plinky plink music.

Type 2's: What was your fasting blood glucose in a morning?

Gin won't raise my BS levels, this sounds like a plan, hic. :woot: (only teasing, I advocate safe drinking limits)

If you want violin and guitar based instrumentals, it has to be Reinhardt and Grappelli.

    Friendly ear needed!!

Hi @kat1989 , I found the five stages of grief article very helpful, I was a right moody cow following my diagnosis. Abertay University are carrying out a study into counselling for diabetics, if you are interested. Some days are better than others but you will always find support here. Take...

Type 2's: What was your fasting blood glucose in a morning?

Well, I went right off the rails last night, glass of red wine (for the antioxidants), maybe a few G&Ts (I need quinine to keep malaria at bay) then the inevitable happened and some pringles attacked me and made me eat them. Went to bed very annoyed with myself. This morning my BG was 6.8, lower...

    codefree source

Give the pharmacy the contact details of homehealth, they supply codefree. I am not sure if the pharmacies have preferred suppliers though. When my late husband was ill we had a prescription for fairly scare medication (in that it was a rare cancer and it was an expensive drug), I found...

LCHF one week and amazing progress

BTW, the response is great when I produce my flask of cream for coffee, 'oh look at Madam', 'didn't know we were expecting royalty' etc. I smile and tell them I am worth it. :)

7.3 this morning but I did have a couple of glasses of wine last night. Good to know that is the highest it should go today though.

LCHF one week and amazing progress

@suffolkscouser I think the results are the incentive. I used to pretend I did not have time to plan ahead and ate on the run a lot. It is so easy to pop a slice of bread in the toaster, buy a sandwich and eat in the car etc. I am only a few weeks in and feeling better and my BG is much...

    What have you eaten today?

Poached eggs for breakfast, coffee with cream (oh I am so enjoying cream in my coffee!!). Lunch will be cream of cauliflower soup, modified to leave out the potato and is just as good. Might have some strawberries and cream for afters. Low carbing is not as difficult as I thought and I am...

    Counselling and Diabetes?

I posted this elsewhere but thought it may be on interest here. http://www.abertay.ac.uk/about/news/newsarchive/2015/name,20430,en.html

    What have you eaten today?

Eggs can be poached in a microwave (if you are careful!), easier than scrambled I think. Lakeland (and most supermarkets) do a little egg poacher with a lid. Make sure you prick both yolk and white to prevent explosions. I serve mine on a bed of spinach.

    Music Fan?

Continuing the Johnny Cash theme....Dean Owens, a Scottish guy's album Cash Back (Songs I learned from Johnny Cash) is basically a cover album with the exception of this song. Very much Cash style.

    Music Fan?

Oh a contentious issue but I think Kermit has a slight edge with this song. (Johhny Cash is still amazing though).
