    Weight is a strange thing

I know my weight can change wildly within the same day. Sometimes like 5-7 lbs. Not sure it's my scale but I do retain water in my legs so maybe that affects it. Still weighing everyday isn't really meaningful.

What was your fasting blood glucose? (with some chat)

    How Long Before Major Complications?

I am 35F with a fasting glucose around 10.3/last A1C was 68. Diagnosed around 5 years ago with T2. However I know that I am on the younger side and I was wondering how long I can expect to stay relatively complication free? So far I have no had any serious complications (more annoying than...

What was your fasting blood glucose? (with some chat)

Thanks for the encouragement. It just seems to be such slow progress when I am feel I am putting in SO much effort. Hopefully it will pay off soon :-)

    Excercise Ideas for Beginners

That sounds fun but I wonder what the weight limit is on those and if I'd be over.

    Excercise Ideas for Beginners

My doctor has told me that I should be getting more excercise (and to lose weight) to help manage my diabetes. I set a goal to get 5000 steps a day which is more than I normally get by quite a bit. Since it is getting cooler, I am starting to walk some to meet that goal. I am interested to...

Type 2 Way to Convert to US Units for A1C?

Well my level is red in the chart but I'm trying to be positive that it isn't as high as it was when I was diagnosed (was like 108 on your chart). Metformin and eating better has done wonders but I am stuck at this level now for a year or two. Hopefully it's not really quite as bad as the...

Type 2 Way to Convert to US Units for A1C?

I keep seeing A1C numbers here that seem really high to me but then realized maybe you use a different scale in the UK. Here anything over 5.7 is diabetic (I'm in the 8.3 range currently). How does that translate to the scale in the UK? Is there a chart?

    Tingling in Feet after Eating

Over the past year or so I notice that I get tingling in my toes and feet after I eat something particularly if it's really sugary (like a milkshake). It's not all the time just when I had a "cheat" food day. Is this normal for a diabetic? Any advice on what I can do to relieve the tingling...

    Friends

T2 diabetic 5 years now. This really hits home for me. I read that so many people have diabetes but I don't have any close friends that have it (that I know of). I have not been super serious about working on my diabetes until recently but joining this group has helped me alot already. I...

    Any Experiences with Mounjaro?

Yeah we have ozempic here but it's super hard to get and even more expensive. Apparently all the rich people buy it in cash to lose like 20 lbs.

Newbie with alarmingly high test results

Your situation sounds alot like mine. I was diagnosed with T2 when I was 30 when my doc had me tested as a preventative measure. At the time my A1C came back like 12 something so really high. My fasting sugar at the time was in the 280s. I am also very overweight and the only symptom I had...

    Teeth!!!

My teeth have never been the best but I have had more issues the past few years with cavities and gum issues. My dentist did tell me diabetes does increase the tendency to have dental issues so I guess I am proof.

What was your fasting blood glucose? (with some chat)

My last test was 8.3. Like to get down to 6. I usually bounce between 8.2 and 8.8.

    Any Experiences with Mounjaro?

Anybody here been on Mounjaro and have any experiences? I like that it is supposedly so good at lowering A1C and has the side effect of weight loss. Unfortunately, it's super expensive where I live like almost 1000 dollars a month. I'm hoping I can get insurance to cover it but I am still...
