Time for new NHS diet guidelines?

There's way too much money involved in food and drug manufacture for them to admit that they are poisoning us with their food and selling us snake oil to cure us. They are pure evil and care only about profit and little about how they atain it. Governments will do nothing as they are in the...

What was your fasting blood glucose? (with some chat)

3.3 about 8 AM. Lowest I've been. Didn't feel weak though. 19 hours since my last meal. I was 4.8 a couple of weeks ago after my swim and I had a Hypo. Having my first meal of the day, beef mince Cabbage and Carrots with some butter on.

    Dr Robin Willcourt

Funnily enough i was just watching this video on Youtube and the link brought me here. The Grain fed to farm animals is a bit worrying. The biggest worry is how all the food industry and Drug companies seem to be involved in the biggest con in history. Making us all ill with their food then...

Anyone seen the documentary What the Health (netflix)??

Obviously there's £billions involved in the food industry and they want us to keep eating the sugar. So they can keep selling us the drugs that don't cure us. I'd sooner trust The Mafia.

    Getting back on board

A few good tips amongst all that. I'm on a steep learning curve. I'm trying to look at it in a positive way instead of negative with not being able to eat bread and potatoes. Its just different and it's what I need.

    Getting back on board

As if having Diabetes isn't enough. And I thought I had problems. Best of luck with it.

What would be a good breakfast?

I even felt better about things when I was preparing the veg this morning. Proper grub no processed stuff in sight. Reminds me of the meals my Gran used to make years ago. I've been fasting on Tuesdays and Thursdays for 24 hours for the past two months. Not sure if I should carry on with...

What would be a good breakfast?

Ive been trying various diets for years but had no success. Little did I know I had Type 2 Diabetis and I was flogging a dead horse. I'm presuming I should see some kind of improvment in blood sugar levels and weight loss in two months. I'm going to be very strict with the diet. I don't want...

What would be a good breakfast?

Today was my first day of a proper Low Carb High Fat diet. Kippers, mushrooms and scrambled egg this morning. I was worried I might not have enough energy to complete my swim. I had no problems. Dinner was 3 pieces of belly pork, one chicken thigh, steamed carrots and cabbage, with some...

    Low Blood sugar

I've started eating a bit more on my swimming days; its been working so far, (two weeks). If not I carry a few Fig Rolls in my bag.

Should we limit the amount of sugar in our lives??

First the food manufacturers add the sugar to our food to make it palatable then they sell us the drugs to control the diabetes. It's like printing money. I recently tasted some Greek Yoghurt; it was like stepping back in time to when Yoghurt first came out in the UK. No one was eating it...

Have you been told not to test your blood sugars?

I agree. I'm new to being told I have Diabetis 2. Apart from the first 3/4 days after I got the kit I haven't tested. I'll probably stick to 2 /3 times a week, if that.

    Late diagnosis of type 2

I've just put my testing kit in my bag for later. Probably won't have one now for weeks.

    Late diagnosis of type 2

Not tested when having a hypo as I only got the kit at the weekend. I'll be taking it with me when I go for a swim as that's when it usually happens. I usually eat a banana and a handfull of biscuits and am ok after a few minutes.

    Late diagnosis of type 2

Pretty sure its hypo; had it for years, and the symptoms fit the description. Got a monitor a couple of days ago. readings have been 5.8 when tested about 18 hours into a 24 hour fast, up to 9.8 on another day. Not felt weird after eating food. Not on any meds for diabetis yet.

    Late diagnosis of type 2

Had a few Hypoglycemia attacks over the years without knowing what they were. Usually, after exercise, I got the shakey weak feeling; once I had something to eat I was ok after about 20 minutes. Asked my doctor could I be diabetic? After a blood test, I was given the all clear. It didn't...
