    I've lost the will..

Wouldn't change anything without my doctors advice. And given that eh views me as unreliable when it comes to a steady HbA1c reading he would want to change meds or increase dosages. I don't feel sick as such although seven or eight tablets vying for attention in my tummy isn't exactly pleasant.

    I've lost the will..

Thank you but no, I can't buy from charity shops. Its something I really struggle with but, being Autistic, I have to wear clothes that nobody else has worn first. I have looked at diet doctor and taken some recipes but cant get hold of some ingredients..or the cost is prohibitive.

    I've lost the will..

Unfortunately Metformin is just one of seven or eight drugs I have to take. Change of taste sensation seems to be a side effect in at least five of them. :arghh:

    I've lost the will..

The last couple of days have just been too hard. Food has become a major issue because my taste buds just don't seem to be making anything taste nice at all. I am struggling with everything. Nothing I eat, and I do mean nothing, tastes nice. I seem to be going round in circles. No time nor...

Prediabetes Six months on and still so confused, whingefest

Indeed we are. Pity there are so many bad days when the struggle is real.

Prediabetes Six months on and still so confused, whingefest

Really sorry to read of your struggles. I empathise because I know temptation and now I worry whether I’m eating too much, too little ...the right things, the wrong things. I feel overwhelmed. I hope you find your way through this. You can drink tea at least as you should never become...

    2018/19 Football Season

Yeah I think it’s because the owner is trying to sell so doesn’t see any point in sacking a bloke that the new owners will probably sack themselves. I think it’s called passing the buck.

    2018/19 Football Season

Another defeat! One win in twenty one and still the manager isn’t sacked!. Incredible...or not, how poor we were yesterday. Sooner we are relegated the better!

    Soft Drinks

I drink no added sugar squash and to me there’s no discernible difference in taste between that and the sugary stuff. I have an occasional Diet Coke or Pepsi Max if I am out but find they don’t affect my sugar levels. There are a range of healthy options out there if simple water is not to...

    Hit a brick wall!

You should never tell anyone there’s someone worse off than them. First rule when dealing with someone who is depressed. Yes, it’s an obvious fact but it’s also deeply unhelpful. Sorry to say that. There are millions better off as well but I am not someone else, I am me.

    Hit a brick wall!

Yes I believe there are many combinations but availability might be an issue. Both my GP and Diabetic Nurse have only ever mentioned 4 or 5 at most although, I appreciate, there are variations on a theme and there are certainly many varieties of insulin. I’m fine on Metformin in that I have...

    Hit a brick wall!

Fine. You win. I said on two occasions it was what I had or had not been told about the benefits of one over the other. I’m not a doctor, I don’t know.

    Hit a brick wall!

My first was 2013 when I was 46 and I had the second at 48.

    Hit a brick wall!

I never said they weren’t both in the diabetic range. I agree that neither is good but I was talking about what I had been told, or not told, about the benefits of 6 over 7.
