    Low carb Hot lunches ideas

I use my slow cooker loads in the winter, stews, casseroles, spag bol mix, curries etc. love the smell of it when I get in from work, if hubby wants pasta/rice or potatoes I just make that separate for him

Do you try to walk daily no matter the weather?

I walk everyday to school (work) and home, it is 20 minutes each way, always armed with my raincoat and umbrella - just in case. It wakes me up in the morning and helps me to unwind after a busy day (I usually have music on too) :)

    When to stop the Metformin

I wass prescibed metformin on diagnosis 5 years ago, after bringing my levels down to non-diabetic with diet and exercise, I no longer take it, y GP was happy with this and as I have kept it down, I don't want to go back there, so luckily for me I am now drug free of anything!

    I blame McDonald’s

I am lucky to be able to eat mince pies, without high consequences, but only the mini ones, one a day (at most) with a cuppa, luckily the big dollop of cream I have with it makes up for it!

    I blame McDonald’s

I am so glad that I am allergic to coffee, I am never tempted with all the flavours/varieties, give me a good old fashioned cup of tea with a dash of milk anyday! :)

    Brisk Walking - daily exercise

I walk to school (where I work) each morning (and back) which is approx. 20 minutes each way, this seems like a nice time to go (around 7.30am) the sun is just rising and sets me up for the day. Even at weekends, I will go for a walk first thing, it seems to energise me for the day rather than...

Has the NHS enabled you to successfully manage your weight?

Blimey, if I had followed NHS guidelines, I'm sure I would be bigger (heavier) and would not have managed to reduce my blood sugars enough to come off the meds! The best help and advice I have had has been from this site - I thank you all. My DN was impressed by how I managed to do it and...

    In a nutshell...

Raging headaches, along with thirst. I put it down to stress at first, things were bad at work and I was helping my Son and Daughter-in-Law with wedding arrangements as her parents live in Canada, but 3 month's after the wedding and I had taken voluntary redundancy I felt worse-so a visit to the...

    Diabetics R Us

My hubby is loving that I'm in the menopausal stage where I have lots of hot flushes, and so the heating doesn't really need to go on much unless it is REALLY cold and that'sonly happened a couple of times so far this autumn...he's looking at a low bill this winter I think!! :joyful:

I thaw frozen berries overnight then just add a greek yogurt into it in the morning, only takes a few seconds and then couple of minutes to eat, you could add some flaked almonds too x

Suspected gallbladder problem due to losing weight too quickly?

I had a scan and I have stones, just waiting on whether I need surgery or not to remove the gallbladder, I haven't changed dramatically, just introduced some small amounts of bread and pasta as these are the only things that don't make it flair up (with veg of course!)

Suspected gallbladder problem due to losing weight too quickly?

Following a LCHF lifestyle along with 5:2 fasting for nearly 2 years, losing weight and bringing my sugar levesl down so that I could come off medication, I too now have gallstones and am awaiting for gallbladder removal. My GP told me that it was down to following the LCHF lifestyle and so has...

    Gallstones

My GP is referring me for a scan, he suspects that I have gallstones, after having what can only described as 'worse than labour pains' for a while now after eating, not all the time but is getting more regular, looking this up, it is related to eating 'fatty' foods, as I eat low carb, I guess I...
