    Does fish lower blg levels?

I find if I eat fish (predominantly Salmon) that I can get away with a few boiled new potatoes without any effect on my levels, which is a bonus as with Chicken it spikes me so I avoid. I think it is to do with fat/oily content of the fish.

I fast on 5:2, eat a meal of 500 calories at lunchtime on a Monday and Wednesday, eating a low carb diet on my normal working days, my body has got used to it now and I don't feel hungry on my fast days, drinking plenty of water and tea helps to fill you up. On the normal eating days, I don't...

How much weight have YOU lost?

Hi, since the new year, I have lost 1 stone and 3 pounds, steadily losing a pound a week using the 5:2 approach, I have found it fairly easy to do, it's a part of my life now, I need to lose another stone and half to get to 10 stone, then I will be happy with my weight, I'm never going to be...

Manager wants to see my appointment letter

My employer always needs a copy of any appointment letters to explain absences, it's not a problem, just for HR to keep in your file, that way, you can't be accused of taking time off unnecessarily (some of my ex-colleagues used to think I was skiving!)

    Say "Cheese!"

I eat quite a lot of cheese most days, it fills me up, stops me snacking on carbs and is part of my 5:2 diet, I am steadily losing 1 pound a week (with a small pause before Easter) and am happy with that.

    Sweet potatoes

I have found the same with sweet potatoes, in a casserole they do not affect sugar levels, but cooking whole (roasted as wedges etc.) spikes me, thankfully not too much, so I also think that in casseroles, the sugar is dissolved into the liquid.

The upside to intermittent fasting is....

I'm a long way off from retiring, however, I am lucky and get all the school holidays to not have an alarm call - I might add that I do still work during those holidays (marking, prepping etc.) I can just do it in my scruffs at the kitchen table! ;)

could intermittent fasting be the solution

I used to eat breakfast on my non-fasting days, since I was off school for Easter holidays however, I tended not to bother, just having a cuppa and then waiting until lunchtime to eat, since coming back to school I tried breakfast at the usual time and found that I didn't feel hungry at all and...
