Constant occlusions - really frightened and don't know what to do

The sites are on the same next to each other but 2 inches apart. I always rotate in a line moving along. My delivery is set to slow as I've always had to do that or it hurts. I double checked that too. When I removed non-working set yet again it's not kinked, perfectly straight and no blood or...

Constant occlusions - really frightened and don't know what to do

OK I found another reservoir at the back of the cupboard - in date but new batch compared to others. Just changed whole thing out and did as @iHs suggested with the piston. Reconnected to new site and straight away occlusion alarm. However then reconnected to old site and straight away let me...

Constant occlusions - really frightened and don't know what to do

51 minutes later Animas answered! The guy thinks my new pump is faulty but as my reservoirs are all the same batch he has to rule them out first. New box fast tracked but won't be here until Saturday. If they don't work I need another new pump. GP messed up prescription so I can't get...

Constant occlusions - really frightened and don't know what to do

Thank you will try that shortly. Just on hold to Animas as I think they need to know something is wrong. I normally get maybe 1-2 occlusion alarms per year max. Now had 9 in very short space of time but with two different pumps. Thinking about it the only thing consistent in this is the...

Constant occlusions - really frightened and don't know what to do

How would I advance the piston fully please? Also this was happening with two different pumps over last two weeks but willing to try anything Just got my doctor to issue background insulin incase I need to come off pump but all chemists saying they don't have Insulatard in stock

Constant occlusions - really frightened and don't know what to do

I changed my set at lunch and it all seemed fine and BG great. BG is still great but my occlusion alarm has just gone off saying no delivery. This keeps happening at every site and now I am panicking and not sure what to do or why it is happening. This all started just over a week ago and I...

BD flowsmart currently limited to USA

I had an email inviting me to sign up to trial the new BD flowsmart set so I did. Then they emailed to apologise to UK users as this set is currently limited to the USA. Really gutted as was looking forward to trying this. Anyone know how long it might be before it launches over here?

    Hypo and bleeding cannula

I've had a few of these and find they way they effect BG varies. Sometimes they stop the insulin working properly and other times they make it super efficient. Still gross when you puul the cannula out though!

Animas Vibe vs Medtronic 640G insulin pumps

One advantage of Medtronic is that you will be able to use the new BD Flowsmart infusion set, although if it has a luer lock so will Vibe users. Animas are meant to be launching a new pump this year. Have you checked if you would be able to have this when it becomes available? Can you trial...

    Freestyle libre CGM

I LOVE the libre and have been using it for 2 years now. I was looking at cgm as I have a vibe but then libre launched. I never tried the Dexcom so can't directly compare. The insertion for the libre is very simple and I find the sensor very discreet. With cgm to get the most for your money you...

    infusion port stickiness

Make sure the area is really clean and dry and then once you've stuck the set down blast it with a hairdryer (without insulin tubing attached) as this warms up the glue and helps it stick better. I do this in hot weather and it really helps. Got this tip off another pumper :)

Occlusion alarms - pump fault or something else?

I do have my previous pump somewhere but not sure where as we are having house renovations and have lots in storage etc. Animas don;t deliver on a Sunday but I couldn't stay in to sign today so had it sent to my mum's and collecting tomorrow. Mind you I wasn't thinking I'd need it tonight as...

Occlusion alarms - pump fault or something else?

Ah so you think it is pump fault? I have no background insulin due to my stupid doctor's surgery so can't go back to injections. Basically my background insulin went out of date so I requested more. Surgery said I didn't need it as was on pump and that only takes fast acting. I have been arguing...

Occlusion alarms - pump fault or something else?

I have changed cartridge in between the sets so guess it's not that. I always pump the reservoir too. I usually only get an occlusion alarm maybe one a year and it's a kinked cannula. Don't get what's happening. Could I suddenly have scar tissue all along one area causing this?

Occlusion alarms - pump fault or something else?

So last weekend I changed my set as usual and it stung as I bolused (not uncommon with some sites for me) but a few hours later got an occlusion alarm and site was sore. Changed set and moved site along and all seemed ok. Next morning Bg were ok but got occlusion alarm again. primed etc but...

    Pump seems worse than injection

Have you considered using a Freestyle Libre to support getting your BG down? A lot of clinics will now let you trial this for 2 weeks so worth asking first. It would really help you get a better idea of what's happening and help you respond quicker to rising levels. Also much less stressful than...

Reading Insulin Pump Screen In The Sunshine

I have the Animas Vibe and can't see a thing in the dunlight. Thought it was just me! Has anyone ever bothered to tell the pump companies about this issue? I thought maybe it was because the Animas display was so dated now but looks like other pumps have it too.

Why do working sets suddenly fail?

@tigger stress doesn't cause me too many issues with BG as my life has always been full of it and I can deal with it pretty well. I'm calm until my libre shows straight up arrow and is hitting 17 or more at a fast rate. Then of course I am anxious and stressed which won't help. Most times I...
