    Travel help!

Have you spoken to your pump company about what they suggest? Animas can deliver to hotels etc in some countries so maybe they have something similar. Also you can get extra baggage allowance for medical supplies if you need too.

Sluggish sites - do you bother changing them?

The odd one might be to do with this but I can usually tell is it's sluggish rather than monthly by the fact that BG is fine right up until set change on the same day and also as I leave my old site in until I'm certain new one is ok I can also check with tiny bolus through old set and this is...

Sluggish sites - do you bother changing them?

I'm really hopeful for this new BD infusion set that will help reduce occlusions and maybe even help with my sluggish sites. It's supposed to come out next year. Mind you occlusions were rare for me until I had several batches of dodgy Animas sets. My friend gave up her Animas due to the decline...

Sluggish sites - do you bother changing them?

@noblehead I was told the same but as I don't have many sites I was running out of room at certain points! Also I figure if I can stay in the 5-6 with the extra basal then it should be ok. I would always change the set if I went up to 9. To make my day even more annoying my first site change...

    Pump Clinic Review

@jodysd6 be careful you aren't having too much fat as this will prevent weight loss too. I started lower carbing to see the benefit on my BG spikes after eating but I also lost weight quite rapidly which I wasn't expecting. I noticed I wasn't having much fat and have had to add extra butter in...

Sluggish sites - do you bother changing them?

I have changed my site today and although the new one is working it's sluggish and slow to respond to boluses. With sites like these I have to do a +30-40% basal to keep stable. I don't have a huge amount of sites, I rotate religiously and this doesn't happen too often but is annoying when it...

    Sick of insulin pump?

@Hollipop0014 just out of interest what pump and cannulas are you using? Does it only hurt on insertion or at the site the whole time?

Just changed my canula and blood everywhere

Had this 2 times in 5 years so not common but not nice either. My most recent one I had also had hypos like you but set felt comfy and no reason to suspect. When I pulled set I was standing in our bathroom and the blood shot across it before I even knew what had happened. Staggered over to grab...

    Water in pump

One of my close friends also has a vibe and she went swimming with in on holiday and it leaked. She was in Egypt so Animas wouldn't send another pump and she had to manage on injections until she got back to UK. She had checked everything and done everything right just like you. After her...

    Faulty Vibe software

I have noticed on the vibe that when I bolus and then immediately look at IOB the dose is never what I've just bolused but always less (2.8u if I bolus 3u). It's like it automatically removes a portion of the dose. My old 2020 never did this and I don't get why the vibe does. No insulin works...

what do people do about the clocks going back?

Over the years I've tried before bed and first thing next morning. I find the morning change much smoother for my BG. I do tend to lie in a bit on Sundays so I just change it as soon as I wake up and not had an issue.

    Faulty Vibe software

Is this on every vibe? I must admit I haven't timed mine to see whether it's accurate to the 4 hours but I do bolus based on my current IOB.

    Son being transferred onto pump

At 8 years old surely your son should be carb counting food for himself? Diagnosed aged 4 I was injecting myself at 6 and have been carb counting for as long as I can remember. Nobody ever told me the carbs of my school meals. Have you looked at a DAFNE course for him? What about packed lunches...

    Loosing faith in Animas

How do I yellow card them please? I have tried other sets but the inset works best for me by far. The steel ones leaked and caused me massive highs all the time. The inset 30 caused painful lumps to form when I bolused and I found them hard to insert due to my sight problems and perception...

    Loosing faith in Animas

A few weeks ago I had a very scary pump experience that has shaken me up. I changed my set as usual and my BG seemed fine. Set was comfy etc and as I had plans for the weekend I was pleased it was such a good site and set. I went to bed with perfect BG and no sign of any problems. I was woken up...

Asking to be considered for a pump/ dvla suspend licence due to hypos

@Hirstygirl are you on antidepressants? These can cause hypos and insulin may need to be adjusted accordingly. Have you considered Abbott Freestyle Libre to help identify patterns etc?

    ANIMAS Contact detach recall

Must admit I only skim read it as I currently use the Insets but I am disgusted that they wouldn't do a recall. Even if only a few are affected that's not acceptable to put someone, maybe a child, at risk. They should off a swap out if people want. Having a needle break off inside you would be...

    ANIMAS Contact detach recall

Just had a letter recorded delivery saying Animas have recalled certain batches of the contact detach infusion set due to the needle breaking off. Very glad to see they are finally acting on some of their faulty products!
