    Sugars dropping repeatedly-help

Hi, I’m not on any medication for my blood sugars and haven’t seen anybody about Rh. I was finally diagnosed in October after coping with it for years. Every time I went to see my gp he said it’s impossible to suffer with low blood sugar unless you take insulin. I went back to my gp the other...

    Sugars dropping repeatedly-help

Overall I’m used to controlling my sugar levels but I keep getting days where my blood glucose constantly drops throughout the day and it’s impossible. I’m careful not to miss meals...even if I don’t feel like eating I do yet within an hour my levels plummet. I had soup for lunch, an hour later...

What should and shouldn’t I eat?

Help, I’m really confused. When being diagnosed with RH the specialist told me to eat brown pasta, brown seedy bread and to snack on nuts and banana. Thing is I also have diverticular disease which clearly means I shouldn’t eat that stuff. If I’m honest I’ve not noticed hypos after pasta and...

    Finally diagnosed, now what?

Hi, I don’t have T1. I had gestational diabetes twice 18yrs ago and 15yrs ago. Was you confusing that with diabetes insipidus? Which isn’t related to diabetes but causes extreme thirst which then I turn I believe is messing with my RH stability. All I know so far is that I can’t have sugar of...

    Finally diagnosed, now what?

Hi. Thanks for replying. I haven’t started a diary so that’s probably a good idea. I have a good glucometer however my gp is reluctant to prescribe the cassettes for it anymore (although he was before) as I don’t have a diagnosis of being diabetic and I’m not on insulin. I know I’ve had it for...

    Finally diagnosed, now what?

Hi. Thank you for answering. Diabetes Insipidus is completely unrelated to diabetes. I believe it gets it’s name due to it causing massive thirst. They think mine is related to the fact I’m on Lithium. Trouble is, I think my thirst is having an effect on my blood sugars

    Blood glucose monitoring.

Hi. I’ve only been diagnosed with rh today but know I’ve had it for many years. I guess what I’ve done wrong is I’ve only tested my blood when I’ve felt really dodgy....when I’m in complete hypo and have occasionally lost consciousness. I’ve avoided anything sweet for years, it’s a definate...

    Finally diagnosed, now what?

Hi all, After struggling with my blood glucose levels dropping for many years (and my GP not referring me) I finally had an extended GTT today and was told I have reactive hypoglycaemia as my levels dropped to 2.7 two hours after drinking the glucose. I’m also being tested for diabetes...
