    Levemir - Advice Please :)

PS: @Spiker - I think I read at some point you posted a really cool graph which showed peak rates for Levemir....? I can't find it now - but I'm pretty sure that cos I'm on a relatively low dose, it means it's only likely to last around 6-8hrs in my system - do you remember if I've got that...

Thanks @ConradJ ! I've started insulin and switched to Levemir since this post... doing lots of basal testing at the mo; oh the joys! Levemir or Lantus?

Hi @novorapidboi26 - I'm curious - what do you mean by "can sometimes be a bit nippy...?" I'm brand new to insulin (2.5 weeks) and did about ten days on Lantus, then saw my consultant last week and he changed me to Levemir - since the switch my numbers have been terrible - but I'm trying to...

How 'low' do you let yourself go at night?

Hi all... If you've seen any of my posts recently you'll know I'm still super new to insulin (2 weeks) plus a bit scared about night time hypos - not that I've had them, I just live alone and the thought of them frighten me. Anyway, on Tuesday I saw my endocrinologist and he switched me from...

Need advance on juicing for type 1

... whilst I was honeymooning I did a seven day green juice and green smoothie detox. Bearing in mind I wasn't yet on insulin; my numbers went quite a bit higher for three days, then dropped significantly. I think I would be pretty wary of doing it now I'm on insulin as I think the drop after...

Dosing question - basal or bolus...?

Hello.... so, I am on day ten of insulin - and I'm just wondering: overall I'm not having too many swings and my numbers are coming down - but two hours after a meal I'm in the 8's and 9's... three hours after and I'm back in the 6's; and by my next meal I'm usually in low 6's or 5's... is this...

TeamBG: Type 1 diabetes and exercise - what questions/issues do you have?

Generally wanting to make exercise my friend again... I used to do moderate exercise before diagnosis; nothing crazy, some sprint training, some shorter runs, swimming and Bikram/Vinyasa flow yoga... But as I came towards the end of my honeymoon and pre insulin, all of these would make my...
