Pain on inserting and how to avoid bent cannulas

I had the same as you with the silhouettes... Left a bump / red mark that was a bit angry for a few days... The T-sure doesn't leave hardly anything. As for the adhesive -- yes, it's possible you're reacting to those too... I do as well! (We must have crossed over in a previous life ;) -- I...

Medtronic 640g and Enlite sensor life

Agreed! That's the tricky part -- don't think it would be do-able with the second overlay tape on that they give you... But with just a little tape and careful positioning over the transmitter it's then quite straightforward -- with your brilliant tips :-)

    Pump referral process

I understand; my concern was the same too... If it helps any they reckon my first month pumping shows a predicted hba1c of 6.5 -- previously it was 6.1... So yes it may have gone up (I've definitely had times running higher than normal whilst I adjust) but it's not looking like it's likely to be...

Medtronic 640g and Enlite sensor life

... I promised I'd give feedback on this once I'd had a chance to try extending a sensor... Even though I know the OP has decided thought it was still worth letting others know how I got on... Detached transmitter as @Flowerpot excellently described above and reattached -- warm-up as normal...

    Medtronic MiniMed 640G System

Haha -- mostly in a pump belt from Hid-In... Hardly ever use the clip as find it bulky! So at home I just sit it next to me and when I'm out I use the Hid-In belt, or tuck in jeans back pocket, or have a lot of dresses / tops with patch pockets which I've cut holes in so I can put my pump in the...

    Pump referral process

I was referred for a pump for specifically the reason you were... Because I was trying to conceive... My circumstances changed during the process; which meant I then decided to hang on for the new Medtronic 640g (which I now have) -- but if I'd not waited I would have been on the pump within...

    Medtronic MiniMed 640G System

Pain on inserting and how to avoid bent cannulas

Ouch!! ... I found the same with silhouettes -- better than quick sets but still could feel them and left nasty marks afterwards... The steel ones seem to be the ones I'm doing best with too... Plus when I take them out there's just a teeny mark which seems to be the quickest to heal for me too...

Need some help with what pump.

I also have the 640g and love it... But it is a very personal choice...

    Absorption....

Some really good ideas, thank you! @novorapidboi26 I completely agree with you; my DSN said to increase rates for bum, but to me that kinda negates the benefits of the pump.... :-| .... @noblehead -- interesting.... yes, where I am inserting the canulas is exactly the same spot I always...

Pain on inserting and how to avoid bent cannulas

Ah.... again, interesting @azure! I have the medtronic version of both those sets, so worth a play around.... :)

    Absorption....

Ah, really interesting about the band, thanks @azure! Gives me hope I might yet still find the sweet spot.... !

Pain on inserting and how to avoid bent cannulas

I've been on the pump for three weeks and I change my sets every two days - with a couple of blips, that's nearly a dozen sets... I've tried different spots around the top of my buttocks 3 or 4 sets -- so about a weeks worth of data.... I eat three meals a day so that's 20+ meals I can look at...

    Pump choices and usage

Love my 640g -- but it's my first pump so I don't have anything to compare it to....

    Pump choices and usage

I think that's changing.... I went to an event recently where INPUT had a stand... they said that they're starting to campaign for type 2's to have the same access to pumps as type 1's....

    Absorption....

Hi! I'm three weeks into the pump today and still loving it! ... I have a bit of a concern about sites though long term; so far I have only tried my tum and bum -- and bum is almost useless.... absorption is so slow that I end up with high numbers for 4hrs after eating, then bad hypo's as the...
