    Travelling With Tablets

Just Gran Canaria this time and already have my EHIC sorted :) I think I'll just ask the PN for a prescription to cover me :)

    My Diabetes History

OGTT are the hospital tests :). Could well be the answer as I've never got a good result on one of those ... Had to fight a diagnosis of gestational diabetes with my first based on an OGTT. Which also makes me wonder about my current high morning counts! My OGTTs were always fasting overnight...

    My Diabetes History

I have the markers genetically, familial history + overweight + big birth weight baby 18 years ago, so I've known for a long time the risk was there. I also test high on OGTT tests and was on the register as diabetic a long while back ... I'd say 10 years but new evidence makes it look like...

    Travelling With Tablets

Morning everyone :) Despite the beautiful weather here in the UK we are heading off to hotter climes in just over a week. I have an appointment with the PN on Tuesday so if I need anything I can get it then. So question is ... I'm currently on gliclazide, amitriptyline and omeprazole. Do I...

What Happens If I’m Continually Running High

Back in January my numbers were similar, I'm in the 8-9 area now and on gliclazide. Whilst I prep my meals I put everything into MyFitnessPal and it tells me the carbs, that way I can adjust accordingly and means I make adjustments whilst prepping. I test before and 2 hrs after each meal...

Type 2s: What was your fasting blood glucose in a morning? (very low chat level)

Thanks freema, out and about at the mo but generally I stick to under 50g a day, and the morning ones are between 8.5 and 9.5. My daily average is running at 8.9 at the moment but the meal rises are good at 2 or 3 max. Yesterday was a bust though as hubby did dinner and it was a massive spike...

Restrictions - What Diabetics Can And Can't Do ...

Thanks everyone, wonderfully informative as ever :). I may invest in some shoes round the garden but we're quite good in the house for me to be barefoot. Due to the fibro, I am really aware of my legs for feeling as when it flares I do suffer with always feeling cold/hot sensations, the foot...

Restrictions - What Diabetics Can And Can't Do ...

Bit of an odd one this and some of these activities I've been doing for a while quite happily but a couple of different people /things I've read have given me warnings about. Foot spas - I have used a foot spa for years, I wear cheap shoes and get sweaty feet, so it's pretty much essential for...

Checking In And An Update :)

I still have my contour and a tub of test strips in the cupboard as a "just in case" supply. The only reason I've switched is that the codefree strips are cheaper. (I also have True Twist given to me by a PN about 7 or 8 years ago but I really don't like that one)

Checking In And An Update :)

This is what I do, 5 tubs last me about a month, so I just reorder each time I'm paid.

Checking In And An Update :)

As far as I am aware our CCG (?) have supplied a list to all the practices outlining what they will support. I know the True Twist is one, but can't remember the other. The PN did do a search on her PC to see if she could get me them on prescription but they weren't supported. She never save...

Checking In And An Update :)

Thanks Ringi, I've only just bought the SD codefree so not going to swap to the only option our pct provide - the True Twist I believe. I can afford it so I stick with the code free :)

Checking In And An Update :)

I had an awful incident about a month ago where I had a hemiplegic migraine, it basically mimicked a stroke for about 8 hours. The doc at the hospital prescribed it for that until I get to see a neurologist in August. I take it before bedtime but I can't really say my sleep has changed any.

Checking In And An Update :)

Life is mental at the moment with work, the end of my studies in sight, health etc. So with my cuppa I thought I'd check in and catch up [emoji8] Have lost 1 stone since March :) lchf where possible and the only thing I'm struggling with is being prepared and meal planning well - need to get...
