    Weekly weigh in - Fridays

PS I’m 5’ 9” and 164 with 32” waist. It’s been decades since I was this size and think that 155 lbs may be my ideal weight. 30” waist seems to be a healthy target. BMI has me “normal” now, but near the border of “overweight.” BF percentage from online calculator estimate is about 15% I’d...

gum disease and loose teeth because of high sugar ?

The link to high blood sugar-heart disease is scary. I had it too and within a month of cutting sugar and processed foods, swelling reduced. 6 mos in, my dental health has been better than any time in life. I regret the loss of teeth but I’m glad to see health and strength return.

Type 2 Some help with ketones

My ketones level during the rapid weight loss has been steady at .5 to a high of 1.5 monthly. This is suggestive of efficiency. It was likely higher in the very beginning but I didn’t blood test early.

Am I fighting too hard at a losing battle?

It’s a complicated answer. If unemployed—yes -free pretty much everything —disincentive for employment and incentive for illegally breaking into the nation. It’s getting worse. If wealthy — no problem -private doctors, top care. If working full time middle class: long waits, expensive co...

Stepped off the Wagon a bit

I am beginning to believe what some doctors are saying about the brain’s reaction to processed sugars mimicking cocaine or heroin. I hope depression clears for you within a few days of getting away from sugars.

    'Don't skip breakfast.'

I’m not a fan of name calling but that was really stupid. It was illogical and appeared as if it was hastily written.

    confused at blood meter reading

I just don’t understand why you won’t trust politicians with your health. They’re wonderful! I trust them with nutrition, health, sex, money, history, science...I even trust them with what words are ok to use.

    Constipation

Do you use “real salt “ or sea salt? I had to add much more to increase magnesium. At first was the guilt of “too much salt will bring back hypertension” but I got over that! (Just like eating natural fats will give me a heart attack) The extra salt helps. I also had to stop drinking too...

Am I fighting too hard at a losing battle?

I respect your honesty and am inspired by your humility. Listening to Dr Noakes talk about hastening his father’s death moved me deeply. As a doctor, he harmed his own dad. He’s desecrated his life to telling the truth about diabetes and diet. He’s gotten in hot water for it.
