Late type 1 not type 2

Exact same thing happened to me, I was originally diagnosed as T2 and almost 2 months later I was re diagnosed as T1 after the C-peptide and GAD tests. The book Diabetic Solution by Dr Bernstein really helped me to learn all about Diabetes but reading is no substitute for real experience.

    Carbs & saturated fat

I used to eat soya flakes for breakfast on weekends with almond milk which was fairly low carb. Not sure where you'd get them in the UK though , might want to try a health food shop. I stopped them because they took a while to digest and I like to go running around ~1.5 hours after breakfast.

How to stop blood sugar raising when walking!!!

What time of the day do you go for these walks ? In the morning ,when running or cycling, I need to inject a couple of units bolus before starting otherwise I end up a bit too high for my liking. In the evening it's completely the opposite and have to watch for hypos. DP could be at play.

    Snacks

I used to make muffins/ biscuits from almond flour & sweetener which were great snacks. Also I was partial to a handful of smoked almonds now and then. I went through a stage of snacking on low carb stevia sweetened licorice (HARIBO) sweets, but the side effects weren't pleasant :-( I don't...

Type1. Can long term low carbing cause insulin resistance?

I low carbed strictly for 3 years i.e less than 30 grams per day. I ended up with cholesterol problems (high LDL) . Before I gave up low carbing I was experiencing insulin resistance. The immediate effect of dropping fats (especially saturated fats) improved my insulin sensitivity quite...
