    Libre 2 first impressions

Only about 5% of total cost , health insurance pays the rest. My seconds libre2 sensor was much better in terms of accuracy. I can now use the alarm function for when I go low/high

    Running woes

Yeah , tried that and also tried longer distance runs > 10 km which was supposed to improve stamina. Bought some 'cooling products' recently and will be trying on the weekend. The first is a bandanna that supposedly cools your head to 15 degrees below your body temperature and second is a...

    Running woes

Every year I have the same problem. I am training for a running race in September , it's only 7 km but very fast. The problem is I'm not fast. I've been training intensely since May (was injured from Feb to May with a hip issue). I've got my speed down from 5:20 mins to 5:05 but still not good...

    Libre 2 first impressions

Quite possibly. Unfortunately , from past experience , when you have a batch with one dud there is normally a few other dud's to be found. Because I get libre on the health insurance I don't get any test strips anymore or spare sensors. It is typically 1 sensor for every two weeks. When one...

    Libre 2 first impressions

I've already had the new libre2 on for over a week so not helpful. I've used the libre(1) for over 2 years before being 'upgraded' to the Libre2. In terms of Libre1 accuracy I found it very good , so good in fact my HBA1C was always within 0.1 % of the libre 1 3 months average (prediction)...

    Libre 2 first impressions

I've been using the libre 2 now for over a week. First impressions are what a load of B*******s , it's constantly reading too high ~ ~ 40 mg/dl and i'm spending a fortune on test strips as it is highly unreliable. The new features , i.e. alarm if too low/high, are pointless as it is inaccurate...

Type 1: What are your HbA1c test results?

4.9 % at my 3 monthly checkup today. Since Oct 2013 I have had a standard deviation of 0.25% in my HB1aC results so very consistent! Now I have I have been using a libre for over 1 year, it proves that these HB1AC results are not a result of frequent hypo's :) Low carb , high exercise and...

"Best" things doctors have said to you

I suffered from frequent dizzy spells, typically when standing up, last year. Potential cause was low iron levels and/or over training I never got it properly diagnosed. When I brought it to the attention of my GP I was simply told not to stand up, ever ! Needless to say I found it very...

    Big change in Insulin requirements

I activated a new sensor yesterday and normal patterns resume. I can only assume it was a sensor issue ,i.e the old one reading too low.

    Big change in Insulin requirements

Thanks for all the replies , no real change in weather normally I get lows the colder it gets. I’ve been diagnosed 7 years so no chance of still being in the honeymoon period. I also adjust my own doses as it’s fairly intuitive. No hypo tonight so adjustments look good for now

    Big change in Insulin requirements

This past week i've had a number of hypos mainly in the evenings. I've backed off with the insulin doses (basal and bolus) quite dramatically , basal down from 22 to 8 units per day and last night I didn't even bolus and went through a few carbs with my BS still flat lining. I've ruled out a...

    Libre #2 experiences ?

Thanks for the info, looks like i'll be a Guinea pig after Easter. The hypo/hyper alerts sound very promising indeed.

    Libre #2 experiences ?

I had my 3 monthly doctors appointment today where I was told I would be changing to the Libre mark 2, no arguments ! I didn't know it even existed and , bar a couple of dodgy sensors, I've been quite happy with the #1 version. Anyone know anything about this new libre (sensors and reader)...

Type 1: What are your HbA1c test results?

4.8 % , Doctor complaining it's too low and must of had mutliple hypo's! Fortunatley I have a libre and proved him wrong!

    honeymoon has anyones lasted years?.

Couldn't agree more ! I was even running daily so hadn't stopped exercise completely. Seems like i'm totally dependant on cycling :-)

    honeymoon has anyones lasted years?.

I thought I was still in the honeymoon period + 7 years after diagnosis , but how wrong I was ! I normally commute to work everyday by bicycle and on weekends , weather permitting, do some longish rides. I had 3 weeks off over Xmas and...

Type 1: What are your HbA1c test results?

    5.0 % today , libre prediction was 4.7 so can't complain!

What Is Your Highest Blood Sugar Peak Today

I've been flatlining for a couple of weeks now. Don't understand what is going on, even thought my libre was on the blink but finger pricks confirm it. I cycled up a mountain around 2 weeks ago , had an horrendous spike, blew up , threw up and had a bad dizzy spell. Ever since my BS has been...

    The Accuracy Of Freestyle Libre

In terms of accuracy my last HBA1C was 5.0 % and libre's average prediction was 5.05% for the same period. I've always had doubts about it but now i'm impressed :-)

    Blood Sugar Wont Move

You sure the heat hasn't spoiled your insulin ? I've experienced this a couple of times in the summer months
