O.k, Thanks for that, I have never self tested.......I did mention it to diabetic nurse once, but she seemed to brush it off, as though I didn't need to do it very often, and said that was why I went to see her.........but I only go once a year.......when I was in hospital they tested 3 times...

I don't currentley test myself........what is the best way to do that ?

Hi, I have taken to eating oranges again, after not eating them for years, after I had gout and doctor advised giving them a miss......are oranges good or bad for someone with type 2, controlled with metformin ?.........Del.

Day six, what an awful day at work, headache.....faceache.......toothache.....even the one's that are no longer there....stomach cramp....apart from that I'm o.k......it can't be the Metformin.....can it ?.......Del.

Day five, still feeling hungry, apart from that feel fine......been told today that banana's are bad for you.....anyone heard that ?......Del.

Well, Day four on medication, no side effects to speak of, stomach always seems to be rumbling, but that could be change in diet, no cakes or biscuits or anything like that, also eating more fruit...........Del.

Pompeygirl, Thanks for the reply, I really should have watched my diet four years ago, when told that I was ''borderline''.....then last thursday was told I had to go on medication....it was quite a shock, so now taking it very seriously........Del.

Well, Day three on Metformin, slightly ''muzzy'' headed.....still feeling hungry, although not so bad.....one thing I have discovered, is that it is a nightmare, knowing what, and what not to eat....gonna get a book on T2 tomorrow and read up on it......Del.
