    Forxiga side effects

One of my friends also suffered similar side-effects from Jardiance (a similar medication to Forxiga), and tried to treat it with some kind of cream (not sure what it was). His eventual solution was to get circumcised. This solved the infections that he was getting.

    Tax Relief on the Dexcom

In Canada (province of Ontario), I get my libre essentially for free, because I am older than 65. I am prescribed a libre because I am insulin dependent. Also, if one has to pay for it, there are no sales taxes (provincially or federal) on it. One can also claim any payment as a medical credit...

    Freestyle Libre Mental Health

This just shows on that people are all different. What works for one, may not work for another, and vice versa. For me, I thrive on as much information as possible. In fact, it drives my entire behaviour as to managing my diabetes. My libre tells me me when I have been a good boy, or whether I...

    Recommended covers for swimming

I don't use any cover, but then I only stay in the pool for about 30 minutes. After a shower, for about 30 minutes, I get silly results on my libre. I suppose it has something to do with the hot water.

    Muscle cramps

After I had been diagnosed with diabetes about 14 years ago, I was getting lots of cramps in my legs. Nowadays, I only occasionally get cramps in my hands.

    In love with Victoza (liraglutide)!

I also loved Victoza, but I experienced side-effects - a sore throat for nearly 2 months until I dropped it.

    Metformin

I was taken off metformin yesterday! I had no side-effects from the metformin, but I am also not sure that it did anything for me.

Anyone on Jardiamet Tablets to replace meteformin used in conjunction with Lantus

Jardiamet - is that a combination medication with Jardiance and Metformin (similar to Janumet being a combination of Januvia and metformin)? It is just that this is the first time I have heard of it. Anyway, I have been taking metformin, jardiance and insulin (novorapid and tresiba) for several...

    Sugars won’t go down today

Well, if you inject Novorapid, whe!n you should have injected Tresiba, that could be dangerous!

    Freestyle Libre on prescription

Hi Bogie, I also live in Ontario, just a little bit south of you, closer to Toronto. I also get my freestyle libre on prescription from the Ontario health plan. Interesting that they no longer require insulin usage as a prerequisite. I also noted that it is covered only in the provinces of...

What have you eaten today? (Low carb forum)

@Antje77 Vogelvoer - if it's good for the birds, who are we to argue! :) It gives new meaning to the expression " eat like a bird!" I was just fascinated by the word 'voer' in relation to 'feed' for animals. It must have been 40-50 years ago that I last heard that word. Memories....

    COVID restrictions gone........................

The death toll that is quoted by government sources does not mean anything. The statistic that we should be looking at is the excess death toll. Every single day between 500 to 1000 people die in Canada, and between 5,000 and 10,000 people in the US. I guess in the UK it is between 1,000 and...

Partially sighed and struggling to inject

What I learned early on, don't hesitate when injecting oneself. Sometimes, I hit a nerve ending when injecting myself, but overwhelmingly I don't feel anything. I have not kept score, but i estimate that during the last 12 years, I must have given myself somewhere between 10 to 15 thousand...

What have you eaten today? (Low carb forum)

Now, I am quite perplexed: 1. What do the egg companies do with all those egg yolks that are are separated from the egg whites; and 2. How do they extract the egg whites on an industrial scale making sure that it is free from egg yolks? Mysteries of life!

What have you eaten today? (Low carb forum)

In Canada, we get egg whites in cartons: Scrambled eggs or omelettes with only egg whites is not really tasty, so the compromise to keep my kidney doctor happy. :)
