I agree it's very important to be able to see your own results, it's so frustrating not being able to see them as I fret not knowing the numbers and the receptionists will never tell me either!

That's a great weight loss well done! Did you start statins straight away or try diet and exercise first? I'm so confused with all the conflicting information on statins!

Thank you for your reply. Do you remember what your levels were? I was expecting to be told to lose more weight and exercise more first then see about tablets but that wasn't the case.

I'm going to speak to a gp tomorrow as me losing weight and exercising more first never seemed to be an option.

Hi thanks for your reply, she has started me on atorvastatin 40mg I'm not sure if that is a low dose or not. I feel like I need to have a telephone consultation with a gp to go over my levels properly. I have online access but they apparently don't have the function of test results added on there.

Would alcohol make the readings high? Unfortunately I went through a phase of drinking too much to try help with my anxiety when in fact it made it worse so lesson learnt there. My surgery don't let us see results online which is frustrating.

The nurse mentioned muscles aches but said they would give me another type of statins if that happened.

I'd eaten at 6pm the previous evening and had my bloods done at 9. Is that a level to be really concerned over then? [emoji30]

Yes I will look into getting one. I was diagnosed in December and havent seen anyone since for any help or advice. I've just tried my best to lose weight eat healthy and exercise more.

Since being diagnosed I have lost 1.5 stone but as I haven't seen the nurse since being diagnosed I have no idea what my bloods are like now.

Hi all, I received a letter from my gp practice yesterday telling me to stay at home for 12 weeks, I spoke to my gp and she said it's because of my high hba1c levels (recently diagnosed) has anyone else has a letter or heard of this? I can't find anything online to support it. Many thanks
