My three year licence renewal is due in October. I've attended DSN appointments this year for the libre, but the last consultant appointment was over a year ago (May 17). Its due in December as I didn't need to see him again before then. Would it be enough for me to have regular appointments...
I've managed to be the first person to be approved for the libre on prescription by Cheshire West CCG. Criteria was > 8 tests per day and approval for a pump. Pharmacist hadn't seen a prescription for it before (first script handwritten by the hospital).
I too follow a low carb diet for nearly two years and HbA1c is at non-diabetic level. I am so pleased I made the decision to change. I agree with all the comments above - I'm rarely above 8, hypo's are so mild (if I have one) that just one glucose tablet fixes it most of the time. It takes work...
As I follow a low carb diet now (18 months in), I always drink a nice dry red and it doesn't mess with my blood sugars...and this does often help with the DP...
Low carb takes work, but once I understood how things worked, I avoid the rollercoaster blood sugars most of the time. My libre helps! I'm in range 95% of the time and the rest of the time, well I cope with the odd 8 or 9 (liver dump). It's a huge change but worth it. My HbA1c is a true...

I am type 1 same as you, novorapid and tresiba. I love low carb and follow Dr b. Laws of small numbers. Takes a while to get used to it but best thing ever. Hba1c now 35. A year and a half after starting year of hba1c 35-38. Loads of testing , trial and error but worth it
Not 10 times a day, TBH now some days I blood test when I wake up, before driving and then at the end of the day. For food, as I low carb, I don't always need to blood test, just depends. without the libre, I'm lost
it's more about confidence that the libre is giving me accurate results, I'm basal testing and other health issues so I've wanted to test at least 10 times a day. Also, 25 years of blood testing is very difficult to let go of. I know that I need to carry on with blood testing even if I'm lucky...
