After 6 months I’m finally being listened to

November 21 I had a covid booster, a week later my stable blood sugars went through the roof, from 6 to 8, to 15/17. (Hba1c had been around 48) A dramatic change as I’m not on any medication. “Ignore it” my diabetic nurse said (not my usual one but another lady). I contacted them again a month...

The effect of COVID on blood glucose

In November I had my booster, and within a week I got high figures, from 7 up to 15, this continued, through an operation in January and later Covid itself in April. When discussing it with a Diabetic nurse, I was told off for testing, made to feel I was wasting her time and told I shouldn’t be...

Thanks for the comments, well keyhole turned to full surgery, I’m in a great deal of pain and can’t go to the loo. My wife is looking after me like the saint she is. Diet is out of the window at the moment, tablets being taken every few hours. It’s really such fun [emoji23] safe to say I will...

    Low carb and low fat?

Morning all, in a few days time I’m having my gall bladder removed, the advice is to have a low fat diet, but I control my type 2 by a low carb diet already, (80 g of carbs a day) I’m not on any medication. Is it possible to have a low fat, low carb diet?

Could someone explain these readings please

I had my covid booster and flu jab just before it went up but that was three weeks ago, but that would explain the high readings. Thanks for replying

Could someone explain these readings please

Thanks for reply’s, diet is constant (breakfast and lunch) 30g carbs for both. I suppose it’s the sudden change which is concerning, I will keep an eye on my readings to see how they change, but thanks for explaining what might be happening

Readings after breakfast are now 9 whereas before they were 7, readings throughout the day haven’t changed. Last nights meal was 6.2 pre meal at 6 pm, 9.4 at 8pm , I did half an...

Type 2 Anger? Does it increase blood sugar?

Thanks, that makes the readings more understandable. Thankfully it’s very rare we argue, but that’s another thing I’ve got to avoid

Type 2 Anger? Does it increase blood sugar?

Had a very frustrating argument with my Daughter tonight, so much so I forgot to take a reading pre food. After food it was 10.5, normally I would expect 7,5. Is it just one of those things or does emotional state have an effect?
