Your Advice Has Worked Wonders In Just 7 Days

Congratulations on great results. My results last week were pleasing (third week), I had a take out on Friday of chicken korma and naan bread and wham .... my results have been high ever since even on very low carb diet, I'm gutted.

Have you been told not to test your blood sugars?

I was diagnosed four weeks ago and told not to test by the Nurse. I couldn't understand how I would know whether my lifestyle changes were working if I did not test and I could be waiting for a HbA1c retest in six months. So I purchased a meter and insisted on a three month initial recheck ...

    4 weeks on from diagnosis

Hi, I'm newly diagnosed too. Your post made me laugh as it could have been me writing it with how I was recently spoken to by the GP. I like your sense of humour and hope that this helps get you through the minefield of being T2 diabetic. My diagnosis was three weeks ago. I too love pasta...

    Conflicting Views ???

Hey my GP must have gone to the same school as yours! After a sleep and a good old talking to myself, I have woke up with my positive take control attitude returned. I have been testing and my fasting blood glucose has reduced every day this week (I started exercising this week - hmm think...

    Conflicting Views ???

Thank you so much. I have read lots on this forum which is brilliant and motivating. The low carbs seem to be a constant theme yet she said 'forget about them' ... I know from this short time that I should not forget about them at all. Your idea about her only seeing patients who are passive...

    Conflicting Views ???

Hi everyone. I was diagnosed T2 three weeks ago after having a HbA1c of 9.5 then 9.1. Have been on the low carb diet since then. Lost 4kgs. When I saw Diabetic Nurse she was happy to let me try and control with diet and exercise, in fact she seemed quite positive about it. The last week I...

Type 2 What am I doing wrong?

Thank you, I have cut out the fruit and will also cut out the others to see what happens. Thank you all for your patience with my questions

Type 2 What am I doing wrong?

Bless you for suggesting I am quite slim ... it is the opposite I'm afraid.

Type 2 What am I doing wrong?

Thank you so much, you've pretty much hit the nail on the head with your interpretation. Do I have to drink more ... I must admit that I am not much of a drinker (unless it is wine - which I have not had now for about 4 months!). Will try to drink more water. There seems to be a lot to take...

Type 2 What am I doing wrong?

It's me again sorry. Any suggestion please ... Diagnosed Type 2 two weeks ago with HbA1c of 9.1 (after a previous reading of 9.5) Immediately started low carb diet and can honestly say I am sticking to it - NO white rice, pasta or bread, NO potatoes (have had one portion of brown rice, one...

Dawn Phenomen - Should I be Celebrating This?

My morning fasting blood glucose was 8.0 yesterday and 8.5 today???? I am so disappointed as I am completely following a low carb diet and not eating after my tea around 6-7pm. I am newly diagnosed so only been trying to resolve the problem for two weeks but this morning high reading is scaring...

Will have a look at the Newcastle Diet. Wow, well done for the massive weight loss and improved blood glucose results.

Oooh signed up at the gym!

Thank you fellow ex-shirker:angelic:. I swim like a dog having a seizure! entertaining for anyone watching from above but not so good for me  hee hee. I also walk my dog but like me he has little legs and does not move them very fast (we are perfect for each other). I did try Tai Chi...

Oooh signed up at the gym!

Please don't argue over my original post. I know that you are both trying to help me and I appreciate it, but it makes me feel bad now the two of you are arguing.

Oooh signed up at the gym!

Thank you for your defending comment it is very kind of you, but actually I didn't take it that way. I am not really intimidated by the machines at the gym as I know I can always ask for help but intimidated and shamed by the way I look and people will think I am lazy to let myself get this way.

Oooh signed up at the gym!

Wow you have done so well with the Hba1c in such a short space of time. Did you exercise too? I'm trying so hard but my fasting glucose this morning (well half an hour ago!) I had a lay in! was 8.5. It was 8 yesterday. Any ideas on what I am doing wrong. My tea last night was salad, chicken...
