I'm 9.2 now. There's no rhyme nor reason to this (edit: not fasting, sorry, ate 2 hours ago). The only thing I can do is bend with the reeds. Edit 9.2 doesn't concern me much; only lows and really high highs (which I don't consider 9.2 to be because I've been 27 before lol, but that's just me)...
I've re-read all the articles I know of. 5.5 mmol/L is an average. Anything in the 5s or even low 6's when fasting seems to be normal. If possible can I have a link for a study where it says that a fasting BSL of 5.8 is considered pre-diabetes?
I'm not allowed to diagnose, but I think that I'm allowed to say that when I was was diagnosed my fasting BSL was between 22 and 27 mmol/L.
"Normal blood glucose level (tested while fasting) for non-diabetics is between 3.9 and 7.1 mmol/L. The global mean fasting plasma blood glucose level in...
In hospital the nurse took my BSL using a finger prick test because she said it would be different to my libre. So I did the libre test and showed her immediately after her test. They were both 6.9. In reality most of the time my tests are a few decimal points different but nothing I'd consider...
I don't know about @DEBBIESCOTT but in Australia we are not allowed/supposed to drive if we're on medication that can lower blood sugar level and we have a BSL of below 5.0
Why avoid pumpkin? It's not generally considered high in carbs as far as I know. 100g of pumpkin has about 6-6.5 g of carbs which is normally considered low unless you eat big amounts of it (like an entire pumpkin). Carrots are also only about 6 grams of carbs per 100g
I don't know why my bolus are fixed either. Doesn't make sense to me considering my carb intake is not really very consistent. Although maybe, I don't know. Dietician didn't seem too interested even though I know I eat fewer carbs than the Au Dietary Guidelines suggest
Yeah I stay level all...
Am I on a basal bolus regime even though my bolus doses before meals are fixed? Maybe I've been using the wrong words all along, I just assumed that lantus + bolus before meals was basal bolus regime... nobody has actually ever told me that I just googled it.
Yeah I was just about to edit my...
I'll give my DN another chance... it's probably just me not being assertive or making my wants/needs known (my endo might not even know my doses as far as I know... I've not seen him since being diagnosed except when I was in hospital the other week, just the DN who is from a different...
I got an email from Abbot Australia (similar, but not the same, to the ones above). It says "If you have not installed Android 13, we recommend you wait to do so until the FreeStyle LibreLink Android app update is available. We will update users when the app update becomes available in the...
B: all-bran with blueberries
L: Fried sardines, lettuce, tomato, onion, pumpkin chips (won't be having those again anytime soon)
D: meat pie filling (minced beef and gravy)
Post-dinner "snack" (lol): glucose gel, toast with honey, orange juice
I've always been on basal (lantus) and novorapid (bolus) regime. Maybe I'm getting the terminology wrong (?) I'm definately not on a fixed carb intake
The novorapid doses were initially the same for each meal, but now lunch and dinner are slightly lower. They've been adjusted twice. Lantus...
I'm on fixed doses, so I had 4 units of insulin when I ate the meat out of my 2 meat pies. I made a guess as to how many carbs was in the meat and entered it as 5 grams because I didn't eat the pastry. Thinking now it good very well have been less than 5 grams. The only place I can think of that...
I'll ask about all possibilities. She actually looked at my LibreView this morning and reckons that such a sudden and steep drop is unusual and maybe the previous reading on the Libre was incorrect (I.e. I was already low). Also she noticed that I had "stacked" (I think that's the word she...
