    Diabetic Hamper

It’s crazy, I went for diabetic meals on a flight last week and ended up scraping fillings out of white bread sandwiches, leaving melon, pineapple and rice uneaten and being given margarine for the biscuits and roll unlike everyone else who got butter [emoji849]

Interesting debate :-) So this forum is a bit of a waste of time???? If following advice based on the experience of others is pointless because we haven’t exchanged bowel bug info’ then that is your conclusion. I totally disagree. Much research is done by getting multiple results and looking at...

What was your fasting blood glucose? (with some chat)

Just read 47 posts here to catch up, @Bubbsie s re DESMOND was my favourite .... I'm still traumatised by it...one of the most useless ill informed courses I have ever attended.. I did our Kent version which is DERRIK, a nice lady trying to put over a script she’d lost faith in. Glad Spurs...

Just a question, if you’ve never had a hypo in your life, can dropping meds that lower your BS cause a hypo? I would have thought the opposite was true. If dropping the meds causes your BS to drop I’ll get off em right now. I dropped Metformin for several weeks and it caused a raise of 1 point...

I’ll not read it now, I’ll read it in an hour when I’ll be on the train on the way to Hyde Park for a boozy evening [emoji85]

In the last 24 hours not once below 6 and a couple of post food spikes just over 9. This compares to a week ago in hot climes and drinking every evening when it would stay down in the 5s through the night but the spikes seemed to go higher

It provides me with insight. e.g. if it’s only yourself that has figures all over the place you can then make comparisons with others to try and work out if you could do something different to stop the peaks (if it’s the peaks and high levels that like me your worried about). It’s useful only to...

    New to all this

Hi Emma, 63 isn’t scary. I got my Hba1c down from a scary 126 to 57 in 3 months and it’s now 51 after another 2 months so I’m in the same territory. 63 is diabetic but if you get on the case you’ve a good chance of getting it into the sub 48 non diabetic level. How was the doctor?

    Regular moderate exercise log

22k steps Saturday including the 5k Parkrun. I didn’t have my weekly pre run 10-15g carbs and was intrigued to see the results on the libre forgetting that it’s 2 weeks was up on Saturday morning, so no results. Runs seem to bang up my BG but keep them lower for the rest of the day. The run was...

What was your fasting blood glucose? (with some chat)

Good morning Peeps, a naughty 9.1 for me after being up between 8 and 9 through the night. My rubbish Liver/Pancreas crew don’t like being home. My heaviest carbs of the day yesterday were cauli and broccoli. Maybe it’s not drinking? Drink messes with my sleep a bit but does seem to keep my BG...

Without advising and only commenting, I can’t remember who it was but a recent T2 poster dumped the meds, dropped the carbs and got great results. Without the BG lowering meds the risk of hypos has gone. Taking meds, to lower BG, that you’ve raised by eating carbs, that you have to eat, because...
