What was your fasting blood glucose? (with some chat)

FBG - no idea, the Libre ran out at 1am but .... my 8th Nov bloods are thru Hba1c at 51, down from 57 in August and 126 in June so still some way to go but maybe I’m winning [emoji15]

Type 2s: What was your fasting blood glucose in a morning? (very low chat level)

FBG - I’ve no idea, my Libre expired and I didn’t check until 11am when it was 9.9 after a body stressing 5k Parkrun [emoji15]

7.9 is pretty good a month in, keep at it, my feeling is that this is a long haul job. Sadly Metformin etc isn’t like Ibuprofen for a headache.

What was your fasting blood glucose? (with some chat)

6.6 for me today after a similar figure yesterday. I feel like one of the clan today and not a ‘9 plus needs to do better’ person. Back in chilly Kent now so no jogs on balmy 22C mornings and I guess in a day or two I’ll be back to my 9 plus FBGs..... or have I turned a corner. More likely my...

What have you eaten today? (Low carb forum)

Hello my lovely’s. Well I annoyed my body this morning with airport frankfurters, I was still at 11 after 2 hours, the labelling was in Thai so God knows what was in them. Just had 4 big naked prawns and a shrimp omelette and 40 minutes later I’m at 8.5 so time for a walk so let’s see what that...

    Type 2 Stopping Insulin Injections?

Well done Keith, I would have done exactly the same as you,I think many of us would have recommended the same but like me wouldn’t feel they could suggest it as it’s a medical recommendation from somebody who is not professional, medically. Is that 7.9 a FBG, do you do tests before and after...

What was your fasting blood glucose? (with some chat)

6.5 at 5.30am a nice low start for a day of travelling. It’s a warm 22C as the sun comes up for the flight to Bangkok, hopefully I’ll be back at Heathrow by 7.30pm

    When to stop the Metformin

After DX in June I’ve been on Metformin. It wasn’t too bad and I think it possibly stopped all the protein making me constipated. I’ve stopped a few times and unlike eating carbs which has a massive impact on my BG the Metformin seems to push my levels down by maybe 1 mmo/l I went to see a...

    First hba1c since diagnosis

Well done, that’s a great result you’re well on the way to getting your BG under control, if you’ve continued the same diet and lifestyle regime you’re probably down in the 40s already. Keep it up, that’s a really encouraging result!

A good reading is one that’s lower than usual but above 4 or 5 . I’m happy with a 7 many people are devastated by a 7. If you get a downward trend you’re getting there, good luck
