That's such good news, 81% in target is great. Well done.

I think Time in Range is being recognised now as a useful addition to HBA1c, for assessing control. I saw recently on twitter a recommendation that being 70% in range where the range is 4 -10.0 is recommended, and seen as good. You should be able to calculate TIR using finger prick testing...

Morning everyone, went a bit high yesterday afternoon/evening, after over correcting in both directions, and having a zig zag event. Blood sugar was ok overnight though. On DP/footonthefloor, and all that stuff, I find, on a good day, my blood sugar rises a little during the night, around 3 am...

Don't worry, I haven't been around for a while so I wouldn't have known about it anyway. It's just this is a good thread for bringing things together related to T1D, though as @Japes says, it does move very fast, so you might have to mention it more than one.

That's exciting. I hope you really have pink hair. Though I'm sure you'll be great without it.

I haven't been around, so it's not really an issue for me. It just seemed strange that the event is talked about in this thread once it's over, but not known to all those who regularly use it. But now it's being discussed in this thread, be nice to ensure it appears both in a separate...

Morning all, blood sugar fine overnight, as I returned to the previous dose. Cloudy sky outside, so another dull wet day. After it being too hot I'm not going to complain too much. As @SueJB asked, how do people get an invite to these meet ups @himtoo ? good to know you all enjoyed...

A Fork In The Road - interesting blog post.

:(:wideyed::***::rolleyes: I feel exhausted just reading that. I think I used up all my "being a better person" stuff, just managing the diabetes, and there was nothing left over for anything else. :grumpy: I think there is some truth in what she says. It does force us to be quite disciplined...

Oh no, that's not good, but at least you got some sleep, and blood sugar behaved after the hypo.

Oh that explains it, you just stayed up all night. I was wondering what happened. 1.9 is a bit scary, fortunately you woke up.

The real cost of living in denial

If you're happy to give it a go it's worth a try, but you can't really know what someone needs to make them change the way they manage their diabetes. I'm almost a complete control freak with my diabetes now, but I wasn't in the past, I don't know what made me change. I think I began to think...

The insulin was for breakfast, but you were enjoying your sleep? Did you take the breakfast insulin while still half asleep? or am I missing something?

Morning all, unfortunately I gave up crisps some time ago, mainly because they're too high risk, for putting on weight, and eating too many. Tried a lower dose of Levemir overnight, because I've been going a bit low at night. Woke up on 10, so I'll abandon that plan. Slept rather well though...

I've had T1D for almost 43 years now. When I first had it I had urine tests to rely on, so the only way to tell if I wasn't hypo was by how I felt. When I look I back I wonder how anyone survived, but people did. I'm not trying to suggest that people have it easy now, but managing it is partly...

Who's everyone? you can't possibly be managing your T1D worse than everyone else. On a bell chart you would probably comfortably be in the well controlled group. Not many people even achieve the NICE HBA1c target.

Morning all, woke around 6 am on 6.1, this has been strangely consistent for the last few days, but the overnight daily graphs are all a different shape. Anyway, cooler today, and more pleasant. Went and had a wander round a few exhibitions at the Edinburgh art festival yesterday, as it's all...

Peaked at 28 degrees here, apparently. Not as bad as some places where 38 has been recorded, but hot enough for me. Blood sugar this afternoon better than yesterday, don't know whether that's related to the weather or not. or just me changing my behaviour. Nice civilised 23 degrees peak...

Good morning all, Yesterday I tried taking less novorapid, to reduce the midday drop, and because I was going for a long walk. But of course by the time I got to my destination blood sugar was in the low 4s, and I didn't want to risk a hypo while there, so ate a few carbs before going in. When...
