    Coconut flour

That's were I got mine from!! I actually tried the plain cake using ground almonds and coconut flour and its not bad. The recipe said 1.5 teaspoons of baking soda but I think that was too much because it tastes a bit salty. In future I will use butter rather than olive oil as I could also taste...

Matcha green tea. Some questions answered.

Interesting- I only drink green tea and love Matcha. I bought a small tin in a Asian supermarket a couple of weeks ago (spelling was Maccha!!) and although it is expensive I found 1/4 flat teaspoon in a mug is really too much!! Very pleased to hear about all its good properties. I have to say I...

    Coconut flour

I use those dead cheap solid blocks of coconut from the Asian shops which are like solid lumps and you mix with water to get coconut cream or coconut milk. I often put some in a stew for a creamy texture and flavour. They are 100% coconut - but do check the ingredients as some are not!!

    Coconut flour

It's taken me long enough to find any reasonable priced coconut flour and considering I was eating it straight from the packet last night my fasting blood sugar was 5.3 so I reckon that's OK for me. Maybe I will eat some on its own sometime and test 2 hours after. Thanks for telling me where...

    It's GONE!

My Type 2 always appears gone (fasting bs this morning was 5.3) until I get ill with a bad cold or like recently had toothache followed by root canal treatment. My good readings took about 3 weeks to come back down again and I do remain on a low carb/low Gi diet .

    Restriction of Testing equipment/strips

Julie - me again saying don't worry about me as I feel in full control of my diabetes (with my testing strips on prescription) despite not going near my GP!!! :) I also have a blood pressure monitor a I was diagnosed with extremely HBP maybe around the same time as the diabetes. My story...

    Coconut flour

At long last I have found a kg bag on Natcho Coconut flour at a very reasonably price from a Chinese/Asian supermarket. It just tastes like finely ground desicated coconut and unfortunately still has the texture (bittiness) of desiccated coconut. First thing I have found out is that it doesn't...

    Yoghurt

I went out for a meal last night and ate boiled new potatoes and blood sugar was 5.4 this morning!! My latest naughty is Bombay mix. I also haven't got a sweet tooth and tell myself Bombay mix can't be bad as it is made with gram flour which is high protein :)

    Yoghurt

I still have muesli which I make up myself sort of. I buy Dorset Foods Simply muesli/ or the nutty one which has no sugar and is the lowest carb one. I pour half a pack into a big tin add the same amount of large organic oat flakes, some rye flakes, barley flakes, wheatgerm, linseeds, pumpkin...

    Toes with fungal infections

I have just been reading about a product called Terrasil and have ordered it from the US site as it was so much cheaper than from Amazon and delivery 1-2 days as they ship from EU. (Probably UK!!) Again I will report back!! It's all natural and I have ordered the maximum strength one. (I swim...

    Toes with fungal infections

Just been looking at moccasin type Athletes foot photos- even found some in toenails and again I wonder. My foot condition was diagnosed as psoriasis by 2 separate dermatologists but it doesn't mean to say they are right. I found photos recently of Psoriasis palmoplantaris and thought that...

    Toes with fungal infections

That's another one I am sensitive to and got the chilblain type of itchy rash!! I used it for a few weeks if I remember before the rash started and it didn't make any difference. It is because I have tried and failed everything I have ever heard of topically that I don't think my terrible...

    Toes with fungal infections

I also tried Vick - made the nails go black!! As I said not convinced mine is fungal and I would never take those pills. I don't do any medications which is why I am on such a strict low carb/low GI diet. Fasting bs today was 5.2 !!

    Toes with fungal infections

We don't know if you are talking about Athletes foot type of fungus or toenail fungus. If athletes foot type it will go away in about 2 weeks using surgical spirit or apple cider vinegar (fungus can't live in acid conditions) , My skin reacts to Tea tree and I come out in an itchy chilblain...
