    Alcohol

I would stick to a good normal gin like Bombay blue, and slimline tonic. Be aware “light” tonics like feverfew have sugar in.

    Apple Watch series 3

I’ve had an Apple Watch 3 for 2 or 3 years now. It links to my iPhone and displays whatsapp and text messages, monitors my pulse, steps, can track workouts. It’s waterproof so I regularly wear it while swimming. plus I use diabox with libre2 to continuously monitor my glucose levels and they...

    Libre 2

I had one which bled and bruised, but looking back I think I pressed the applicator too hard against my arm when I put it on.

    Libra Sensor 2 not working

I love the system when it works but I’ve had two libre 2 come off and three fail early since March. I now use tegaderm over the top to stop them falling off. Abbott have replaced each one but it takes them over two weeks to do so every time. I’m not impressed with the quality of the sensor or...

Probably too late for tonight but I find prawn patia works, or rogan josh, or tandoori chicken.

    Help

I understand your fear. But honestly it doesn’t hurt…..less than a finger prick. Once you get past that first one I’m sure you will be fine. I agree get someone to do that first one for you and hopefully it will calm your fears and the second will be easy. It saves so many finger pricks it’s...

Libre 2 inaccuracy 2 monitors in a row

I have been using libre 2 since the beginning of March and every sensor reads between .5 and 1.5 below my blood glucose meter. The lower the reading the more inaccurate I find the libre. after some trial and testing I don’t worry about libre alarms until the libre reading dips below 3. That...

    Libre 2 Alarms

Yes you are right. The alarm is sent via Bluetooth so it will go off as long as your phone is in range.

    Help Libra Sensor Question

Abbot sell both types on their website BUT if you click the link to order sensors from the app it takes you straight to the page for libre1 and not to the page for the sensor you are using. I did exactly the same, and Abbott didn’t seem to think there was anything wrong with their link. They did...

    Libre in a sauna?

I’ve been wearing a libre covered with tegaderm since March. I swim regularly for up to an hour with no problem. the sauna at the leisure club has just reopened, and I went in for 10 minutes this week, the first time with the libre on. As I was getting dressed I noticed the libre and tegaderm...

Type 1 Blood sugar and swimming

Hi, I’m type 2, but swim regularly. Breast stroke, not fast but usually for 45 to 60 minutes each time. I find at my pace my blood sugars remain stable according to my libre.

My libre 2 is dead - long live the libre

My first trial libre died after 10 days, the second fell off after 4 days, both replaced no questions. I have had another two last 10 days....I think from the same batch, again replaced no questions. I have also had the most recent 3 go the full 14 days with no problems. But basically I have...

Help before I go off the rails

Hi, 9 years 9 months ago I was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes. 4 months later I had a recall on a routine mammogram, and was diagnosed with breast cancer. Since then after an operation and radiotherapy I have been clear of cancer so far.....but I am still dealing with diabetes. At the time I...

Query re Libre Sensor during Radiotherapy

Mine was nearly 10 years ago now. I developed the lymphodema three years later, but it is mile. I rarely wear the sleeve now (just for long drives and flying)as it is stable. I did have all my lymph nodes removed as the sentinel node was positive, but luckily the rest were clear. I finish...

Query re Libre Sensor during Radiotherapy

I have no actual knowledge of wearing a sensor during radiotherapy, but logically it’s a long way away from the radiotherapy site (and there is no restriction on wearing anything with metal in) so I can’t see a problem. As you say best to ask the radiotherapists. I also have lymphodema...

    libre sensors

Tegaderm is clear, and sticky all over. I apply it when I put the sensor on, and just leave it on for as long as the sensor continues to work.
