Thoughts and worries on my new condition

Yes you're right, it won't be easy. I'm new to this, but this journey seems to be all about getting to know our inner self better, in a way that we never imagined before, with questions we would never had to think about before, and with answers that are unique to each one of us. I hope to find...

    Sneaky injections through clothing?

Of course it's not a good habit to practice daily, but in some occasions could be useful... :)

    Sneaky injections through clothing?

A friend of my father used to inject insuline through his trousers in his thigh, for example at the restaurant, and no one ever noticed it. Someone here ever practiced something like that? Of course the sterility of the needle gets lost...

Your words are beautiful people. It will surely take some time for me to digest the whole think, but hopefully I will get used to this "new part of me" as you did. Thanks again, I loved your messages!

Thoughts and worries on my new condition

Thank you for your suggestion. I took a week from work, so I'm doing this first period alone at home. I don't know how I will handle the thing at work. I always used to eat with my colleagues, but now I will need that moment where I have to get in the bathroom. I find it a bit embarrassing...

Thoughts and worries on my new condition

It was just 3 days ago. The doctor diagnosed me type 1 and was explaining me how I had to live from now on. Testing blood, one shot insuline per meal, one before bedtime. I was wanting to cry in front of him. The worst and most sad moment was when he told me to choose the colors of the insuline...

    Losing waist but no weight?

Hi Kristin. I started eating lots of meat, fish and cheese. Particularly I found a "fresh cheese" that I love to mix with sweetener and fruits or even salted with meat, and it has nearly zero carbs and zero fat. I even found a "protein bread" with just 7,5% carbs that tastes wonderfully. I live...

    Losing waist but no weight?

I started eating less carbs since diagnosed the last 3 weeks. From time to time I used to measure my waist. In this period I have no time for sports just walking around because of my job. Lost 3cm waist but no weight. A hole less on the belt. Has anyone an explanation ? Did I build muscles in...

    Does Metformin help?

I have no problem with low carb, my doc asked me to eat more carbs while on insuline. Never did more than 2 units per meal though, and 6u long lasting before bedtime. I'm on my first days of therapy, I have to study all my body reactions. I'm so happy I found this forum.

    Does Metformin help?

I'm on insuline from a few days, but I'm doing very small amounts, 2 units per meal and my values are very good. I asked my doctor to do a Metformin only therapy. He said for type 1 is normally non effective but trying doesn't hurt. I will try 2 weeks Metformin only in June.

Very dry skin on one hand

Hi everyone. In the last weeks I've notice very dry skin on my right hand. Didn't care much, but tonight it started bleeding a bit between 2 fingers. I'm going to tell to my doctor tomorrow. For now using a body lotion on the hand. Did someone have similar issues? I have read that this might be...
