Amjed, I don't know where you get the idea from that insulin will control your diabetes better. Quite simply... It won't! However....your body, your decision. Such a shame you're not prepared to help yourself. Good luck.

    Help

I had a feeling that was what you wanted. I'm type2 insulin dependant. It's ok but insulin isn't the "magic eat what you like treatment" for type 2 diabetics and to keep my blood glucose low I still have to control what I eat. Can I ask why you would prefer to be on insulin?

    Help

Hi amjed and welcome :) I see you are not only taking diabetic meds but also an ACE inhibitor ( ramipril) so I presume that's for your blood pressure? You're actually only on a combination of two diabetic meds, which isn't unusual. For what it's worth I agree with what most of the guys are...

    What keeps you going?

Being by the sea. I own a static caravan just half an hours drive from my house, but it's a different world! A huge beach which is never busy, even during the holiday season it's often just me, my dog and a load of sea birds! There's no clubhouse, no through traffic, no shops....frequently no...

    Sugar free Jelly

Yes Garr, I've bought it in Tesco. However it's cheaper to make up a pint from a packet and put it in your own pots. One packet = One pint = 4 pots...:)

    Sugar free Jelly

Oh yes, lovely! Thanks for reminding me :). When my kids were small I used to wait until the jelly was almost set and whisk it with an electric hand whisk. The bubbles gave it a honeycomb effect :)

Whose Having What For Dinner? Answers Below :)

Lol Cath, I'd ditch the beans but fish and roast cauli sounds yum. I'll put an extra chicken breast in the oven if you fancy a drive to Wales.... Will hold dinner for you ;)

Whose Having What For Dinner? Answers Below :)

I'm having my favourite..... Chicken breast wrapped in prosciutto, cauli mash and broccoli spears, followed by berries in raspberry jelly with a slug of single cream poured over the top.

    Smoothies

In answer to your question Turvell fruit is pretty much a no no for me. I eat berries but nothing else because it drives my BG up and it stays up for several hours! Bit of a bummer because I love fruit. Have you tested after drinking a smoothie to see what it does to your BG ? Incidentally...
