    Advice, please re Humulin M3

Hi Just been moved onto Humulin M3 from Humulin I. I understand the difference and will be monitoring regularly. However, not sure how quickly the bolus element kicks in, i.e what is the optimal time before meals to take it? Typical scenario - meeting friends for meal out; may be an hour or...

Lidl High Protein Low Carb Rolls

Bought 30 in Oxford last week, having rung customer service. They checked with the store that they had some, so I drove the 10 miles to pick them up. I freeze them in batches of 5. Lunch is one roll (Carbs 8) as 2 open sandwiches.

I'm with Suby. I also like to add a dash of Angostura bitters, just a few drops. Don't know what goes into it. Someone here will have the answer!

    Winter coughs and colds

I just googled carbs in Lemsip. 5g per sachet. I reckon I can risk that. I know people say that hot lemon and paracetamol work the same, but I like Lemsip when feeling cold and shivery, and I don't have any lemons or paracetamol handy. Lemsip left over from when my other half had man-flu!

    Winter coughs and colds

The pharmacist gave me Robitussin. I'll see how I get on. Thanks for the reminder re Olbas oil. Used to use something like that for the kids, I think Karvol sprinkled on the pyjamas worked a treat. I'll give that a go, too.

    Winter coughs and colds

T2 ID. I'm following a low carb regime and doing fine. But I have a cold and an irritating cough at present. Any ideas about OTC medications that could help alleviate symptoms? I know the cold has to run its course, but lack of sleeping through being unable to breathe easily and coughing is...

Hi I'm with the bacon, eggs or kippers brigade. If you want porridge, add bran, which is not digested, or seeds as has been suggested.

Yes, I do that too. Trouble is I'm not terribly good at freezer management; I tend to forget what I have!

Join the clan! I'm a day ahead of you, and feeling great! Just hunting the net for a good, UK based, low-carb cookbook. Any suggestions? I know there is a recipe site on here, but I do enjoy reading a book.

    New to this site

Welcome! The great thing about this forum is that folk really know what it's like, and are endlessly helpful and supportive, so you are in the right place. I would agree with the others, try cutting down(out?) carbs. Worked for me!

    Low carb and Hypos

Thanks pavlovsdog. I carry those things too, but today I was at home, so could seek alternative sources of carbs to stave off the hypo.

    Low carb and Hypos

Yes, I am T2 on basal insulin, and the reduced need for insulin may (I hope!) be the result of low carb ing. My concern was the 'right now' low sugars and feeling wobbly. Cheers
