Hi, I was diagnosed last year with type 1 diabetes and I have an end ileostomy (stoma). I have had trouble with keeping consistent BG levels, and suffer from hypo unawareness. Does anyone find Lantus an issue?

I just moved off Lantus today to Levimir, after a consultation with the nurse. She believes it will give me better control during the day, and avoid the night time lows, followed by morning highs. I think also because I was having to take a large dose of lantus to stop the morning high, I was...

Thanks for the replies... It's a club social ride (they average 15mph), about 25-30 miles to a Cafe, then shorter direct route 20ish miles back. Really looking forward to it, providing the weather is as forecasted. Will take bg meter and insulin, and plenty of jelly babies etc., and energy...

Can novorapid act differently for each person

Thanks for the reply, At lunch I normally have a sandwich, banana, crisps and a yoghurt, most of which I believe are slow release carbs. I suppose this could account for the highish bg levels at 4.30pm and then the rapid drop just before my evening meal. Would increasing my Novorapid ratio at...
