Night time G6 sudden drops which aren't actually happening

Thanks ert This also happens during daytime but isn't a major problem and is obvious and I can ignore it. I believe compression lows are a myth. I think the Libra's low alarm is mostly a case of the Libra's habit of giving extremely inaccurate results in the lower readings...

Night time G6 sudden drops which aren't actually happening

Sudden drops of over two m.mol per 10min causing a hypo alarm at night are happening regularly during sleep. This is something which has suddenly started and is driving me crazy. It corrects itself After about 20min. Can anyone tell me why this occurs and if there is a solution. Dexcom...

    USING LANTUS AND PROTAPHANE TOGETHER

Does anybody use this combination? In Gary scheiner's book "Think Like A Pancreas" he describes using Lantus and Protaphane together with NovoRapid for T1 Diabetics. The Protaphane at bedtime to combat Dawn Phenomenon. It made sense to me and I tried it out without discussing it with any...

    Extending Dexcom g6 sensor life

Tried again to restart a sensor which had performed well for 10 days but it failed to maintain accuracy after 24 hours use. Will now give up this practice. I think I must have had a lot of luck with my first attempt at doing this.

    Extending Dexcom g6 sensor life

Completed 30 days using the same g6 sensor without incident and good accuracy but the next attempt to restart failed. It wouldn't accept my calibrations and then failed completely. My skin after sensor removal was in excellent condition. The greatest downside overall was the need to do more...

    Extending Dexcom g6 sensor life

Hi searley, for this trial I fitted the sensor to the OUTSIDE of my upper arm to make it easy to remove the transmitter. Can you let me know where you fit your sensor?

    Extending Dexcom g6 sensor life

Have just checked YouTube and see there are some who have been able to extend the life of Libre sensors using a Bluetooth transmitter and phone.

    Extending Dexcom g6 sensor life

The Libre1 sensor that I started monitoring with cannot be extended. The g6 sensor can be extended because it uses the power supply of the transmitter which lasts 90 days. I use the xDrip app on a cheap Android phone. It can also be extended using the Dexcom receiver.

    Extending Dexcom g6 sensor life

I'm now on day 24 of my first attempt trailing sensor restarting. I've found the only thing that has changed so far is the sensor temperature compensation. When showering my BG shows a significant rise and falls back to normal soon after. This is the same as the Libre1 does from day one. I...

Increased insulin sensitivity - a curious story

t1dluke, in your initial post you said you suffered from loose bowel motions. About one year ago my BG became much harder to control and I also had loose bowel motions. I took Imodium tablets for the bowel problem. It fixed that and I started to notice an improvement in my...

    Freestyle Libre reading low

Hi Hels, I've the same problem as you have. I keep my numbers low and these are a problem for my GP and others including my wife. My Libra can be reading LO and I'm above 4 and feeling great. I've been on Libre for several years now and I'm about to try out the Dexcom g6. I...

    Pramlintide (trade name --- Symlin)

Thanks TypeZero for the extra information regarding Amylin. I'm intrigued by your name. Do you have long periods requiring zero basal insulin like I do?

ZERO PUMP BASAL SETTING FOR LONG PERIOD AT NIGHT

Thanks for your interest LizLola, I'm absolutely sure I'm now producing a small amount of insulin and my system does have it under control. Here is what I think is going on. My liver does not now deliver a constant flow of glucose into the...

    Pramlintide (trade name --- Symlin)

I'd like to make contact with anyone with T1D who has been treated with Pramlintide in any form. It can be prescribed to T1 and T2 diabetics on insulin in the US by a doctor but not here in NZ. I don't know if it's available in the UK. It claims to allow a reduction in insulin requirement by...

ZERO PUMP BASAL SETTING FOR LONG PERIOD AT NIGHT

Thanks for your reply Seacrow. I'm pleased to know I'm not the only person in the world needing zero segments. I'm 81 years of age, been T1 for 48 years and thought this could be something which develops with age and length of time with diabetes. It developed about a year ago and it's what...

ZERO PUMP BASAL SETTING FOR LONG PERIOD AT NIGHT

No, that thread is my very bad attempt to correct the heading on this thread. I omitted the word ''zero'' from the heading. I've been needing to use a very long zero basal setting around midnight for several months now and I would like to know how odd this is. My DNS just says everyone is...

Pump basal setting for long period at night

Thanks for your input Chas C. Like you, I think it must be very unusual to need such a large insulin dose and then zero insulin for several hours. It seems to me the main problem must have something to do with the liver. This started about a year ago with a 2hr zero segment needed from 11pm...
