Back to MDI - Cellnovo wasn't working

I am very lucky, in that both the team at Addenbrookes and my local GP are very efficient, the hospital contacted the GP directly and asked them to add the Cartridges to my repeat script a week or so before I picked the pump up, so I was able to pick them up well in advance to take with me.

Back to MDI - Cellnovo wasn't working

Insight collected from Addenbrookes on Tuesday and so far, so good. Handset is easy to use and very straight forward. Loads of new/different fetaures to use compared to Metronic. the pump itself is pretty slim and light and I much easier to conceal than the last and of course as you do not...

    Which pump?!

In terms of actual faults it would regularly stop giving a bolus half way through delivery which then means throwing the ic and setting up a new one, the ic's themselves were not reliable and would not always stay attached to the pump body, but mainly (and this is my opinion not a proven fault)...

    The inevitable Cellnovo moaning thread

Have been pumping for 9 years and i am well versed in blocked sets, but usually after changing it for the third time, it starts to play nice! As for the strip errors, those are the main two, but it is so slow to be ready for the strip compared to pretty much any other BG machine I have used. I...

    The inevitable Cellnovo moaning thread

Oh dear, I too have had some issues :-( The test strip failure thing is enough to drive me up the wall, then there is the incesant beeping for no reason and then there is the fact I don't think it is delivering properly, but with no alarms. Bloods have gone from nice stable 5-7 to lovely...

    FREESTYLE LIBRE ON SALE!!!!

First results are in and Cellnovo 8.7mmol/l, Libre 10.4mmol/l, to be honest a little disappointed. More swiping and finger pricking comparisons required me thinks.

    FREESTYLE LIBRE ON SALE!!!!

First sensor in and 50 ish minutes to go. Slightly concerned how well this will stay in after 2 days let alone 14, so may need to invest in some extra sticky stuff, however extra easy to set up and insert. Fingers crossed it works. Looking forward to hearing how everyone gets on. :)

Pump Gubbins - How do you carry it all?

Sorry I meant to say, and I know this is pretty time consuming, but if you do get chance the best place to learn the pumo and all its quirks is the Cellnovo academy in the members section of the website.

    Cellnovo (Finally!)

I had a Medtronic Veo. Cellnovo holds 150 untis there is no negotiation on this, which I have advised them I think is a real waste as I dont go anywhere near this in 3 days! it is also, as a note, completely non negotiable about over running the change time, when your 72 hours is up its up...

Pump Gubbins - How do you carry it all?

hi Dave you can enter food without taking a bolus, enter the food into the food library, press calculate and on the next screen just use the record button not the bolus calculator it then asks if you want to save the food calculation to your journal just press yes and the food will get logged...

Pump Gubbins - How do you carry it all?

Would be interested to know what issues you have with the pump management, I too have some niggles, but am conscience I might just be being fussy! Will be trying the pump on my thigh later mainly because it is somewhere new to try, will report how this goes in due course!

Pump Gubbins - How do you carry it all?

I have adapted an old blood machine case from another supplier to fit the 'pump' finger pricker, lancets and strips and then all the rest of the vast amoutn of stuff this pumo requires you carry around is in a make up bag (you do seem to need a whole lot of spares for this thing!) As for why...

    Cellnovo (Finally!)

I am the same so last night i tried it on my arm and you barely notice it and it appears to have stayed put all night! I have also had right round on my side and again once you can convince your head you really can't feel it!

    Cellnovo (Finally!)

Bizarrely sleeping is not as bad as it seems with the short tube, you do need to put a bit of thought into the placement but you do just stop noticing it

    Cellnovo (Finally!)

Apologies from the start if I ramble but there is so much to say about this little pump (I wont bore you with it all!). I was finally allowed to bring mine home on Thursday and as a fairly seasoned pumper (8 years) I was a little scared of something so new and so different. whilst also being...

    Exercising when starting LCHF

I have been Type 1 for over 30 years and as can happen, the carbs get set by the hospital and become habit, with a BMI of 22.5 I have never really worried, but I found this thread and was interested to know if anyone had any tips that was all, sorry for any offence caused by posting this on the...

    Exercising when starting LCHF

Hi Dave, I would be really interested to hear how you excerise on so few carbs, I would really like to be more active, but excercise usually equals hypos! and therefore more food, now would be a good time to mention my average daily carb intake on a non excerise day is around the 230 mark (I...
