    Hi again. Testing levels

Thanks. Oh yes for sure I wouldnt feel well anyway and apparently I have a severe form of fibro/ME. I eat full fat butter, 2- 3 pots Fage yoghurt, nuts and seeds, and those 2 pots cream a week You imagine 4 or 5 pints full cream milk on top and I eat cheese twice a day! Thats an awful lot of fat. X

    Hi again. Testing levels

Hi. Thanks for your reply. I get through two medium pots of double cream a week. At least twice a week I have it with cheese added (cheese sauce) and pour it over fish. I also make a decaf cappucino about 3 times a week and add a big dollop of cream to that. I do have some cocoa in that doesnt...

    Hi again. Testing levels

Hi Zand. I guess I will ask. You would think the dietician would be keen to know. X

    Hi again. Testing levels

Hi. Thanks. I havent been testing at all for ages. I got really hung up on it and was already really stressed out so I figured I'd leave it out for a while. In fact, having only one kidney added to my fear and it got where I was scared to test. Crazy isnt it? I had already lost a stone in...

    Hi again. Testing levels

Hi again. Back again. I havent had a H1C thingy test for ages. Still under dietician as still underweight. Have you tried to put weight on with a low carb diet lol? I wondered how often I should be having that test as GPs arent mentioning it at all. Perhaps cos I got myself to high 30's in last...

    Back and Battling on!

Hi and thanks. I do have a bar of dark 80% cocoa solid chocolate in most of the time but to be honest just one square seems to antagonise my acid reflux! I tried an Atkins bar and felt ill for 24 hours...really upset tummy.

    Back and Battling on!

HI all It's a long time since I been on the forum. My fibromyalgia and CFS has been so bad I haven't even been using the internet much at all. I did want to drop by though and update anyone who's interested. I'm the one who had the kidney removed and had bad kidney function in the remaining...

Underweight - Now It's Getting serious

Hi, if my bloods are still in the high 7's after two hours I take it that my one hour spike is likely to have been much higher. My dietician did tell me that non-prediabetics/diabetics, can spike with certain foods but it does them no harm in the long run - ie. up to 8 or more. I don't know if I...

Underweight - Now It's Getting serious

I tried about five blueberries in my full fat yoghurt every morning for a while but dropped them because my BG didn't like it at all. Oranges? I would have to give that a miss I reckon. Can't take more than a couple of tablespoons oatmeal at a time without big spikes. Is there something I could...

Underweight - Now It's Getting serious

Know what you mean. I just wish there was a way to put weight on. I am doing pretty much all of the right things. I eat butter..a pack a week! I eat 6 eggs a week now. I eat loads of cheese every day. I eat 2 avocados a week. I have been adding flaxseed, seeds, and nuts to full fat yoghurt for...

Underweight - Now It's Getting serious

Hi I was thrilled to read this as it makes me feel less alone with the problem for one thing and it is making me feel like that a bit. I was a little sad to see the response to it though and that's what I am finding and what makes it all so complicated. It seem not one size fits all about all...

    Oats Question

Hi Can someone remind me which are the best oats to try please? Is it steel cut? Is it the bigger the better? If any of you eat oats how do you get on with them and are you cooking them just in water? Any ideas how to make them more tasty (without fruit). Do any of you use substitute sugar on...

Underweight - Now It's Getting serious

That's very interesting, thanks. I think I have to experiment and be a bit bolder to see what happens because even if it does increase, I have proved I can get it lower - obviously at the expense of huge weight loss though.

Underweight - Now It's Getting serious

I respect what you are saying, but it's not that I was anxious and then I got pre diabetic. All this is bound to have a knock on effect psychologically. Health anxiety is akin to hypochondria. I know because I am a trained anxiety management therapist, and I can tell you I am only concerned...

Underweight - Now It's Getting serious

I snack on cheese as well as having it on toast. I tried the cold pasta thing. If I reheat it does still elevate my bg quite a lot. If eaten cold not quite so much but I hated it cold. My dietician told me to have rice pudding for goodness sake. She also said a piece of chocolate cake once or...
