    Insulin

Hi there, I'm a type 1 diabetic, and I was diagnosed in 2011 at the age of 12 and I have gone through many different types of insulin. My issue is that the clinic think that I am having reactions with the preservatives in the insulin. Is there anyone who has gone through this and what insulin...

    Diabetes alert dogs

Thank you all very much for your responses, they have helped me think about the bigger picture. And yes I agree that should I ever get a dog, it would be to appreciate the dog and what not what they can offer me. I am starting to develop unawareness where I cannot see the symptoms of my own...

Type 1.5 Insulin not effective, can anybody help me please?

Hi there, it could be a case where you are insulin resistant and you should talk to your diabetes team very quickly if this has been going on for some time. It happened to me and me being me, left it for quite some time and I shouldn't have done that.

    Ramadan kareem

My advice to you would be to not fast this year as you are newly diagnosed. Maybe around December when the hours are shorter you can try to fast, or you could try donations and charity work for the time being but since your health should be your number one priority, that is what you should...

Type 1: Help me please. I feel really sad and depressed.

I was diagnosed at 12 and it's now been nearly 6yrs. It was very hard for me at first. But I had a diabetic mum and dad. I also didn't tell many people at first. I told a few teachers at school and didn't really tell my friends. I am still insulin dependant and my advice to you is that don't let...

    Freestyle Libre

I too have just started the trial today and am pretty excited to be using this. Only downside is that I'm a student in sixth form and can't afford £100 every month. So I'm going to enjoy this free trial and hopefully it will be on the NHS soon or there could be a reduced price for students...

    New sensors for glucose checks

Has anyone heard of the new freestyle libretto sensor where it is placed in the arm and it records the data for the next 8hrs before the memory gets wiped. And the meter scans it to get the readings? I was given it today and just want to know everyone's thoughts.
