    Type 1 - I hate this disease

Agree with much of what you say. This disease/condition can get you down. Would suggest you think about a Freestyle Libre system, or similar to make life much easier. Instead of 5-10 lancets in your fingers daily just one sensor every 14 days. Then you can keep your meter for emergency backup...

What was your fasting blood glucose? (with some chat)

Please remember gliclazide can cause low blood sugar. I take it you have means of checking your blood glucose levels.? If you can persuade your surgery to give you a freestyle libre 2 it makes things even safer as they will set off an alarm if you go low while asleep.

Type 1 Can't start my libre 2 sensor

Most surgeries will not replace faulty sensors. That is left up to you to raise the matter with Abbott. If you do not do this it will be your loss alas.

Libre sensor prescription for type 2 non insulin

Bear in mind that some diabetic tablets, sulphonyureas such as gliclazide, are known to cause hypos. It is not just insulins

Libre sensor prescription for type 2 non insulin

As I have said elsewhere it depends what Trust/Health Board area in which you live. Some allow it and some do not. Guess its a sort of post code lottery. In Fife where I live it is only allowed for diabetics who are on separate insulins. If you are on combined/mixed insulin then - TOUGH as you...

    Libre2 Prescription rejected

Freestyle Libre 2, or later, sensors are not without their problems. It is a smart idea to have a BG strip meter to counter any “ unusual “ results. Sometimes the two systems will agree and sometimes they will not. To be fair to Abbott i have never had any trouble getting faulty sensors...

    Libre2 Prescription rejected

In Scotland it depends in which Health Board in which you reside. I reside in Fife and their policy is that type 2 diabetics are entitled to freestyle libre 2 sensers provided you are on two different insulins. Prior to this increase of insulins I was on a single insulin mixture and thus...

    Libre2 A1C accuracy

My libre sensor had me at 3.8 to 2.8 to 2.2 this afternoon.! I checked it with a BG strip which said 6.2mmol/l. Since I felt absolutely fine and the reader passed all its diagnostic tests my conclusion was that the sensor was faulty and needs replacing. Guess the moral of this story that if you...

What was your fasting blood glucose? (with some chat)

Why are you fed up with a reading of 7.0.? That is not bad at all. Have had many a lot worse than that.
