    Second nature programme

I joined this a few years ago when it was called "Our Path" - it was ok, but I had to agree to disagree with my coach as she said she didn't agree with Keto. They put you in a group and you're supposed to check in every day and are given lessons around mindset etc. They do seem to be more lower...

    Exante diet

Well done on your success, you've done really well. I'm doing Exante for a while as I find it easy enough. I do 2 replacements a day and I still have a low carb meal in the evening I had my review 2 weeks ago and my nurse was amazed at my results. BP is normal, cholesterol is normal, and my...

    Psyllium Husks

I use this to make keto bread, https://www.buywholefoodsonline.co.uk/psyllium-husk-powder-500g.html No problems with it going purple. I did use another brand once and it was a very weird colour! S

    Gotta love a gadget...

Yea, some people don't like the fixed lid bit, but I find it ok, you can also get a rubber disc that allows you to store the PC lid on top of the unit with the AF lid closed, and you can get a stainless steel inner pot [emoji846]

    Pork scratchings UK

I buy the Black Country ones on ebay in bulk then pop them in a Kilner jar. The last bag I got had bits so big in I had to break them down to eat :). They are great though and just about hard enough for my taste. I remember the ones in the 70's that were flat and like squares of iron.... so good.

    Gotta love a gadget...

I recently bought the Ninja Foodie Max ( Air fryer, Slow Cooker & pressure cooker). It was a considered purchase as it's not the cheapest thing. I have to say I'm using it daily. Frozen chicken Thighs take 20 minutes so a quick lunch. I've made casseroles, cooked sausages and even proved/baked...

T2 and Erectile Dysfunction - Metformin, sulfonylurea, diet, testosterone

You can have daily Tadalafil (Cialis) which might be better, or the "as needed" dose which works for a few days after you take it. Just be warned it can give you bad stomach acid - especially after a fatty meal. I found stopping alcohol & sugar made huge difference - as did core strengthening...

Eye Screening - more good news

Ok, so I'm just back from my appointment. The results of the second test were better, but still high. At least I know I can reduce them.

Eye Screening - more good news

I'm fortunate in that my GP has an interest in that side of things, so he goes through results in detail then we have a discussion around his thoughts - he's been known to order several sets of tests "just to be sure". The call I had to tell me to start back on statins wasn't via him but...

Eye Screening - more good news

Thanks for this - I'm in Lincoln, luckily I have a good GP & DN, we tend to talk openly and try to come up with a plan rather than them just try and force meds on me which I'll refuse - to a point. Apparently I'm one of two patients that go in carrying a folder and print outs of BG readings...

Eye Screening - more good news

I suspect not well - and I don't blame them. My only concern is whether I can change them! Only another day to wait.....

Eye Screening - more good news

I hadn't fasted at all - they don't do fasting blood tests here these days, certainly I haven't had one in a couple of years. That said I hadn't had anything other than coffee since the night before.

Eye Screening - more good news

Yea, I'm waiting to get the breakdown next week before I get too stressed. There will be some discussion, but luckily my DN is a listener rather than a lecturer so I'm sure It will be ok :)

Eye Screening - more good news

So following this some not so good news..... sigh. I had bloods done at 09:30 this morning, and got a call at lunchtime to say the results were in - cholesterol was 9.5 - ouch. They didn't have the breakdown there as it was a receptionist call. Apparently I am to go back on my Statins...

    Dark chocolate

I've got some Montezuma 100% dark..... it's an acquired taste but 8g of carbs per 100g. It tasted very powdery. I only bought it to see what it was like.
