When on Metformin you dont have "hypo's or hypers", is this true???

Hiya AmyPar37 - welcome to the forum. I am Type 2 (have been diagnosed for 7 years) and, in my experience, we CAN experience hypos and hypers. On the very rare occasions that I've had a hypo my symptoms are severe sweating, light-headedness and feeling nauseaous, and with a hyper I just feel...

Alternative to Diet Drinks Advice Please

Hiya clairy clutterbuck. You need to thank your (well meaning?) cousin for wanting to help, but point out that her sniping is NOT the kind of you need or want, and that if she has nothing positive to offer you'd rather her keep her suggestions to herself, and if you want her advice you'll ask...

Type 2's: What was your fasting blood glucose in a morning?

Hiya Benniesmum As has been mentioned before, if you are Type 1 on insulin or Type 2 on medication (and have or are at risk of having a hypo), tell your gp that you HAVE to test before you drive, and whilst you're driving, to comply with the DVLA rules. Check full rules here...

    Banksy

I don't know about you chris lowe, but you mention upsetting the ethnic minority groups and, maybe it IS just me, but I feel like my upbringing, education and beliefs count for nothing when I no longer have the freedom to use my own language in my own country. I'm all for a multicultural...

    LIDL 81% Chocolate

I'm a definite Aldi shopper for my main weekly and I have yet to have ANY unsatisfactory items from there - except their "can't believe it's not butter" own brand (I get that from my local Nisa lol). I'm SO working class - and to think - I was a loyal Asda or Waitrose boy until my first trip to...

can they keep me from working if i been deemed fit

Hiya Tommy. Sorry to hear about your terrible experience. There are a couple of points I would like to raise - Firstly (after many years in recruitment with agengies) I am not sure about your employment status, do you work for the agency or the car manufacturer? Who pays your wages and issues...

    Free on Prescription???

Hiya Linda I've been getting EVERYTHING on my prescription FREE. If the GP prescribes it - it's free. I am currently taking 9 different meds for a variety of conditions and have had free prescriptions since I was diagnosed with T2 8 years ago. Hope this helps.

    Hi

You say you found out OVER THE PHONE??? I'd either have a serious word with your GP or move to another practice because your GP obviously knows your medical history and meds and, more importantly, the current level of your depression and SHOULD (in my opinion) have told you face to face. That...

    Banksy

Political correctness, anti-racism and health & safety have become TOTALLY STUPID!! What ever happened to freedom of speech?? In my humble opinion political correctness is possibly making people sympathetic to the "anti foreigners" brigade by constantly being told what they can and cannot say...

    Newly Diagnosed Type 2 Mum/OAP

Hi caring-for-mum. Firstly I'd just like to say God Bless You for being such a wonderful daughter (I'm blessed with one too) and I hope your own illness gets better soon. Secondly, make sure to ask your GP to arrange a Medical Exemption Card for your mum, which will entitle her to FREE...

    Is this diabetes

I was in a similar position 6 years ago, but because my GP couldn't be sure whether I was diabetic or not he sent me for a Glucose Tolerance Test (no needles lol). This was very simple and straight forward and took up about 2 hours of my day, With the results from this test he was able to...
