Most days my sweet fix is fruit & I've been ok with that but then the chocolate monster in me needs more than a fruit fix! I've found some chocolate online & although a bit expensive I think I'll give it a go, thank you.

Thank you for your experiences & suggestions. I too have spinal stenosis & frequent procedures for it amongst other health issues. Being in chronic pain all day, every day makes life hard work, plus I live alone so I'm often depressed & lonely. I'll have a look on YouTube thank you. I do hope...

Thank you. I do eat fruit (against my Dr's advice) & that usually works well for me until I get the monster cravings for chocolate again.

Thank you for your ideas & suggestions. I do use sweeteners for hot drinks & do buy sugar free sweets but still really crave chocolate more than anything! Tried cutting it out entirely a few times then end up impulse buying then feeling worry & guilt. There's no easy fix or answer to food...

This is my sixth year of being a Type 2 Diabetic. (I'm a 65yr old woman, disabled from spinal/pelvic injuries). 1st year was a kind of "shot in the dark" learning the ropes. By 3rd year (more to my own astonishment!) I was in remission! 4th year unremarkable but my spinal trauma gave me...

Introduce Yourself: Answer Some Personal Questions

Hello MightyMacs & thank you for sharing your own recent diagnosis & how you have since already regained some normality through research & being proactive in implementing what you've learned to your own unique situation. I will get there I know. It just has to all sink in first & I guess I'll...

Introduce Yourself: Answer Some Personal Questions

I think that's what scares me in the immediate sense as I don't know what my readings are nor have no equipment yet to check. I guess I should prioritise getting back to my GP & getting what I'll be needing. Thank you. Rae

Introduce Yourself: Answer Some Personal Questions

Thank you Jill. I think the scary bit is the gap between it being diagnosed so matter of factly over the phone & instructed to visit my GP asap for some kind of oral medication & whatever else. I am so in the dark about what I'll need from a medical perspective to what lifestyle changes I'll...

Introduce Yourself: Answer Some Personal Questions

Thank you for giving some reassurances. It's 1:30am & I´m still churning it over & over but, thankfully, I am a proactive person so learning from yourself & others & adapting changes you´ve all had to make to help find my own balance (eventually!!) & give me back control somewhat. I'm already...

Introduce Yourself: Answer Some Personal Questions

Well.... so here I am. Diagnosis of Diabetes Type2 earlier this morning. Can´t pretend I'm not upset & can't deny the confusion & questions in my head. Is this the self pity stage till reality dawns? I am upset. And I'm here because I'd otherwise feel totally alone. My name is Rae & I'm sure my...
