Where to wear pump during labour?

Yes I'm hoping it won't take too long and judging by last time it won't! I only really have a pouch that is made of fabric and has a popper to go on my bra so not really sure how that would attach to a night shirt. That was my thinking too about not wanting to have a bra on with skin to skin. I...

Where to wear pump during labour?

Hi, I'm just wondering where other people wore their pumps during labour. My first labour i wasn't on a pump and only had a hospital gown on. I usually wear my pump on my bra so do I just keep a bra on under the gown/nighty? Probably over thinking things but like to be prepared. Also were you...

Pregnant: Cow's Milk can trigger diabetes in babies, is this true?

My plan is to try and harvest some colostrum before the birth so that I can give it to the baby instead of formula. I am guessing it is ok for me to have cow's milk in my diet although it can pass through the breast milk? As you said azure the breast milk itself has a protective affect. I will...

Pregnant: Cow's Milk can trigger diabetes in babies, is this true?

Wow thank you for all your comments! The leaflet is an NHS one. My issue with breastfeeding was not the amount of milk i had i could have supplied an army of babies! It was the pain i was in with every feed and every midwife i saw suggested that she was latched on correctly and she seemed...

Pregnant: Cow's Milk can trigger diabetes in babies, is this true?

Hi, I have been for a growth scan today at 28 weeks and seen the diabetes team. I was given a leaflet on induction which also had some information on the importance of breastfeeding. Thanks, I will give those things a try and look out for the lows that may arrive. I'm not vomiting yet but had hypermerises with my daughter so dreading it getting that bad. I have a scan on Wednesday as I've had three previous miscarriages so just hope all is well in there.

Pregnant: How to do a basal test with all day sickness?

Hi Azure, Thank you for your comments. I have been told my my maternity diabetes team that it's even more important to do basal tests. It's easy for them to say though when they aren't the ones feeling rough! I can see what you mean though with the constant changes surely it will be hard to get...

Pregnant: How to do a basal test with all day sickness?

Hi, I am 6 weeks pregnant and the morning sickness has started to get quite bad now. I'm noticing my blood sugars are creeping up and would like to do a basal test to see if it's that or my carb ratio that needs changing. Problem is I feel so sick I need to keep eating regularly or it gets...

    Bit of advice ...

Hi Cloe, I seem to remember things dropping from about 14 weeks then gradually increasing from about 20 weeks onwards. By the end I was on ridiculous amounts of insulin I had to do three injections at my main meal so not to give such a big bolus in one place!

    Am I Pregnant!? I'm Petrified!!

Hi, In answer to your first question your sugars can go up dramatically mine did almost straight away. Just keep testing and correcting when you need to. If you can cut some carbs out that helps too. If I were you I would go and see a different Dr, it's absolutley terrible the way you were...
