Medtronic 780 Does anyone have one?

Brilliant! Hope you like it! Do keep us updated, please. Would love to hear how you find it. I’m currently going for the tandem but the backlog at the hospital etc is probably long enough for me to change my mind a good few times. And regardless of that, am interested in any case.

Medtronic 780 Does anyone have one?

Hi @dancer, thank you for that - didnt know about the 7th day! I used to extend the sensors every now and then (and sometimes got quite a few extra days) but eventually just felt it was too fiddly. I guess I’m hoping to hear from folk with Medtronic pumps who have switched to t:slim or... from...

Medtronic 780 Does anyone have one?

I’m struggling with this one too! Warranty on current 640 ran out few months ago and I just couldn’t decide between sticking with Medtronic (2 pumps from them - both been good ‍♀️) and taking the 670 or going for the t:slim - which sounds great. Then I got informed that if I went with Medtronic...

    Planning

Congratulations to you too @Sarahstar82. Hope your birth plan is getting there with the pump etc. choices. Good luck! I had much the same drop in levels when I got on the pump btw. And good luck with the eyes @Kateyo, am sure you will be fine. It seems being well prepared will help to avoid any...

    Planning

I've had extensive laser in both eyes due to retinopathy, brought on by years of bad control, very fast improvement in control and pregnancy. I had a few sessions before the pregnancy, and the eyes were fairly stable when I got pregnant. In the 3rd trimester they flared up (their...

Can a bad hypo (and after-effects) harm baby? :(

Don't know if it'll have an de-toxing effect on your system but I think a super chilled out & relaxing day sounds like an excellent plan in any case x Ps. I get the convulsions too (bit like an epileptic fit, tho I tend not to be conscious by that point) when I go low enough. I once asked...

Can a bad hypo (and after-effects) harm baby? :(

Hypos themselves won't harm the baby. As my doc just said to me, babies are very good parasites so they will get the needed glucose out of you no matter what you yourself are experiencing... Regards stress, from what I recall from the pregnancy documentaries I've seen over the years only quite...

    Control Of Diabetes During Labour

I also stayed on the pump during the induction & deliver y 2 years ago, and it worked great. My husband was in charge of the testing and marking up results (and dealing with the pump too), don't think I would have quite managed it by myself towards the end. Keeping the pump was in the birth...

    Case/holster for 640g?

Hey! Thanks, nice to know I'm not totally alone with my irritation :). I asked Medtronic who swiftly replied and said the cases for the paradigm 754 can be used with the 640G ("you would need to remove the belt clip before being able to enter them in the pouch" hah). Medtronic only has one...

    Case/holster for 640g?

I've just got the Minimed 640g to replace the paradigm and have been quite happy with it so far (the smartguard works!). One issue tho is the lack of a holster/case. I never used the belt clip on the paradigm, always had it in the leather case it came with (or if I wanted to conceal the pump I...

    Sure T

After kinking issues with quick-sets I'm now almost finished with my trial box of sure-t's and they've been good. A few slightly uncomfortable sites (am more aware of them than quick-sets), but otherwise it's thumbs up. I am bit lazy and find the changing every two days thing a bit of a bore...

    Why not?

A child would indeed have to yank the tubing pretty **** hard in order to do any damage. I find door handles are my enemy number one in ripping sets off... And I definitely prefer my toddler fiddling with the pump rather than insulin pens, tho she doesn't as she's not interested in the slightest...

    Help with kinked infusion sets

Yeah, the silhouettes feel bit brutal! When I first had a look at it I went *** as assumed I was supposed to get the needle in with the blue needle cover on which I mistook for the cannula (like on quicksets). Not sure what I was thinking, perhaps I was a touch low. Things slightly improved when...

    Help with kinked infusion sets

Ah, good to hear, didn't know mio had other than the 90 degree ones. I tried them in the beginning when i started with the pump but went for the quicksets as they worked fine then... So far have now tested a few sure-ts and silhouettes. Both fine but the sure-t feels special... such a relief not...

    Help with kinked infusion sets

Great, thanks to all. Will concentrate on testing the angled and steel ones (on paradigm so silhouette & sure-t), tho the fridge-cooled cannulas are interesting too :). And will make sure Medtronic replaces - half a box in one day is not good... @Mrsass, 2 years with no issues is brilliant! For...

    Help with kinked infusion sets

A week ago I went through 5 quicksets in a day with all but last kinking. First 2 I inserted manually, last 3 with the serter (usually have no issues either way). Bg went obviously crazy with ketones and I corrected with old school needles but not quickly enough so it got out of hand, and the...

    Changing hospital during pregnancy

I'm currently at St Thomas (London) and am pretty happy with them, whether pregnant or not they've been great. I also have my eye control & treatment there, good experiences on that too. Problem is that we've moved house and tho it's only 15min further west, it's made the trek to the hospital...

    C sections....

My induction was started at 38+1, Lumi was born naturally (with forceps) 38+3. I felt neither my body or the baby were quite ready, she was still in a pretty high position (and small, birthweight was 2.7kg). And I had zero signs of body preparing for labour. But the drugs did their thing in the...

    Groaning inwardly (minor rant)

I am super grateful to my diabetes team, they've helped me enormously in getting my levels from **** to great and were vital in getting a heathy happy baby out of me. But... it feels there is one excellent doctor and then there are the extras. Whenever I go for an appointment (pregnant or not)...

    Is it worth the risks?

Hi there. I have much the same years on the clock as you - had my first baby in 2014 when i was 35 and am now pregnant (very early days) with 2nd. In 2013 my hba1c was bit over 7 on conception so not perfect, but my diabetes doc felt that it was good enough (had been round that region for...
