Employer and time off - I’M REALLY FED UP

I’ve been really appreciating the responses here and have felt very supported by you all, so thank you. One thing that occurs to me is to pass on the little known fact that most mortgages will have an allowance for legal fees when it comes to employment disputes. I had no idea until I was told...

Employer and time off - I’M REALLY FED UP

I work for a large firm that provides services for local authorities. My own work is as a Tree Surveyor. So it’s fairly difficult to switch out to different employers and I have to travel a fair distance to my place of work anyway.

Employer and time off - I’M REALLY FED UP

This bit: For example, at my place of work, there would be no point whatsoever kicking off about being put at stage 1 or stage 2. Those are totally non-negotiable. However, once there, there is significant leeway, with recognition of Health and Safety, HR rules, personal health history...

Employer and time off - I’M REALLY FED UP

Thanks @Brunneria, I’ve had an hour or so to simmer on it and this is very much like my situation. The frustration has arisen because I feel like I’ve been over this many many times and not a single thing has really been done by my employer to support me in it, and not do they ever seem to...

Employer and time off - I’M REALLY FED UP

Thank you...I’ll be reading over this and probably going back to ACAS then as also mentioned above...going back as I’d previously contacted them when it got really bad 2 years ago. Jeepers! Why does it have to be so flipping hard? Feeling so unmotivated by these people

Employer and time off - I’M REALLY FED UP

No union representation for me and I believe there’s an issue joint retrospectively... I’ve had problems all along and so don’t think I can go in that direction.

Employer and time off - I’M REALLY FED UP

Hi haven’t been on the forum for a while - not great at these things [emoji853]... I was diagnosed type 1 four and a half years ago, and since then my employer has just never been able to understand why I need to go to appointments. I usually either have to use up all of my holiday time (surely...

Type 1 iPro monitors - how do you keep yours on?

I don't think so, just an adhesive pad x 2 in a cross over the monitor and then I added another pad plus tape over the top when I got home...I'd only cycled 15 minutes easy effort but still sweaty enough to make the corner come up - hence my extras!

Type 1 iPro monitors - how do you keep yours on?

I've just had an ipro monitor fitted for the second time after the first attempt ended 2 days in when it fell off during an easy run. Now I'm paranoid the thing's going to come off again so I've ended up stick another dressing plaster over the top, plus surgical tape cross-crossing it. I'm...

    Odd nerve 'attacks'

Yes. Because my bod is waaay sensitive to insulin, I've found the best strategy is to keep doses low (I'm only 0.5u ins : 10g carb) and then I don't spend all day yo-yo ing. I'm sure that this has been there pre-lchf, though of course I can try this. Thanks Sent from my iPhone using DCUK Forum

    Odd nerve 'attacks'

Thank you. Have that weird muted feeling because of diab issues...like I've gone on about stuff for a while and now no ones really listening. You're probably right...nothing to do with T1 but I've never been properly ill before and suddenly I have a 'serious' thing to consider. Sent from my...

    Odd nerve 'attacks'

I don't know if this is anything to do with my T1, but lately I've been experiencing these odd feelings that are like having an electric shock through my body. I'm reasonably fit (plenty of running) and good weight / bg control, but these 'attacks' are becoming stronger and I can only link it to...

How does your partner cope with your T1?

Hi Diagnosed last July at age 41 it's been ups and downs. I'm lucky I'm that I have a partner who's come to understand the T1 and supported me through learning to cope thus far. The main problem I have is that the bad temper that is part of a hypo makes me unwilling to listen to her trying to...
