    Rice crispies

Experiment today- Rice crispies and whole milk Pre 6.5 1 hour. 8.6 2 hours 6.6 I did enjoy them as a change. Is 8.6 too high a spike even though a short one?

    Bread

Take your point @in2deep but it's the only bread that doesn't spike me so it's that or nothing. Are the "sins" related to carb count?

    Bread

It's occasionally on offer at 2 for £2 so I stock up and freeze it. Like you, it's the only one I can eat.

    Spikes

I can't eat weetabix or toast either. My quick breakfast is a peanut 9 bar or full fat Greek yoghurt and berries and/ or sugar free jelly. Sometimes I just can't face cooked breakfast although it spikes me the least if all options.

    Really struggling

I'm going to try the Livlife toast idea @Daffodils1 . If I eat in in the eve I get really bad acid reflux all night and it can make me sick (the same with battered chip shop fish) even though it doesn't spike me. Think I'm prob wheat intolerant. Going to try the toast tomorrow for lunch.

dont think i eat enough hungry all time ?

It really is confusing at first! Don't worry. I avoid all bread, all rice, all oats/ grain based foods. I eat a few new potatoes and a very limited amount of sugar because I'm not keen on sweetener. Ignore low fat advice. I've lost 2 stone eating cream , dark chocolate, butter cheese and...

    Low Carbing Shopping

9 bars are a gf wheat free breakfast type bar made from nuts seeds. Loads of different varieties. Some even have chocolate! Some natural sugars in them but don't spike me at all. You can buy them in Asda, tesco and Waitrose. Usually on the "free from" sections. Some on here buy online in bulk if...

    Really struggling

I feel so much better just from the supportive messages and understanding on here- thanks! I know you're all right and diabetes is horrible but there are so many other things that could be worse. I've tested and tested bread and they all spike me into 11/12 apart from livlife which gives me...

Thanks everyone. I think I'll draw a line under today and start again tomorrow and think "ill do my best today". Think I need to sit and draw up some more meal plans and ideas. Getting bored of my regular things.

Thanks @sanguine ! You're absolutely right. I know you are and I'm frustrated with myself and should count my blessings rather than be fed up I can't eat bread... But it sometimes just makes me want to cry! Pathetic I know. There is always stuff in the house for my 5 and 7 year old but I'm...

    Really struggling

Hi all. I was diagnosed last sept and managed to get my hba1c down from 13 to 7.2 by end of December. I felt really energised and committed to a new way of living until just. After Christmas. I'm really struggling to keep the carbs down and crave food I shouldn't have all the time. I feel really...

    LCHF & Cholesterol

Mine initially came down from 8 to 6.2 on LCHF then stayed at 6.2. Doc wanted me to have statins when it didn't come down further but my understanding is that it's ok to have cholesterol between 4-7 so I said no to statins this time. Sure he ll try persuading me again though. It's a tricky one.
