    Medic alert

Hi fellow insulin dependent friends! I am still quite new to all of this relatively speaking. I was wondering, for other T1’s/insulin users, do you wear a medic alert bracelet? Thanks as ever for your help.

Has anyone in the UK been prescribed 'NovoPen® 6 & NovoPen Echo?'

I was given 2 echo 5’s - one for basal one for bolus as I am extremely insulin sensitive and need the ability to use the 1/2 dose option. They were given to me by my DSN at the hospital.

Hi! I’m was diagnosed as type 1 recently and I’m on Levmir 5u morning 3u evening. (Switched from Lantus as I was going low at night and high during the day.) I’m also on novirapid 1:10carbs. My control has been really good since the switch to levemir. (I was up in the teens). My consultant...

    Officially team 1.5

It feels like a lot of trial and error doesn’t it?! Are you also on Metformin? I was curious as to how T1 are responding on that. I was always on Gliclazide.

    Officially team 1.5

Thank you! Looking through the forums it does seem to be a shockingly high amount who are mis-diagnosed until crisis point is reached.

    Officially team 1.5

Hi everyone! I had my endo app this morning and she was very confident in a type 1 diagnosis. I have been changed from Lantus to Levimir because of dropping at night and high during the day, carb counting with Novorapid and having a trial of Metformin. It’s taken over 10 years to get here...

    What is normal GAD range

I don’t have that access - I am just phoning my BG results in on a weekly basis while they tweak the insulin and I asked if any results were back. I’ll give it a few days for the CP and see if I can get a clearer picture.

    What is normal GAD range

Thank you both @ert, @oldgreymare for replying. I am very lucky so far that I am being treated on my clinical presentation and need. I know based on this the underlying diagnosis won’t change much, but I’m one of those people who likes to know! My HBA1c went from 42 in November to 63 in March so...

    What is normal GAD range

Hi, I was wondering if I could get some wisdom here, rather than chasing my tail around the internet. The TLDR version is I was diagnosed as T2 after gestational diabetes. Held steady on LC diet for 10 years with small dose (40-80mg) Gliclazide. Before xmas things went haywire BG in 25+ range on...

    Help gratefully received!

Thank you so much Jo for your reassurance! I didn’t realise that things could take a little while to settle after my wayward Christmas. Good to know that my assault on my pancreas is unlikely to have lead to its complete demise!

    Help gratefully received!

Hi everyone I have been T2 for about 8 years treated with Gliclazide. I came off of it about 5 years ago as LC got my HBA1c down. I needed to start it again about 2 years ago when it crept back up. Now I’m on 40mgx2 day. I also low carb. last HBA1c was 43. I was told to ‘eat normally and...

    Regaining BG control

Hi everyone, I was dx with T2 back in 2014 and my GP put me straight on Gliclazide - eventually to 80mg twice a day. After research on these forums I began the LCHF diet and started experiencing regular hypos so came off medication. I gained good control through diet for a couple of years. I...

    Low carb vitamix/blending

Hi everyone, I'm about 9 months into type 2 diagnosis, with fairly erratic readings. I'm hoping to get serious about low carving now and have invested in a vitamix. I'm finding however, a lot of their recipies are quite high in natural sugar. Can anyone point me to a website/book that is good...

why does normal Bg make me feel hypo?

How strange you jut wrote that. I have literally just come out of a real hypo. I was at 3.5 and really not feeling good. Thank you so much for your post, timing couldn't be better to give me some reassurance. I have just been looking at the best way to treat a hypo as I felt like I was going on...

    Bruises

Maybe you need to check for anemea. If your iron levels are low this can cause bruising.

why does normal Bg make me feel hypo?

So would you say I've confused matters and give into this a little to much too soon by starting a LCHF diet and gliclazide at the same time? I did think to myself I now don't know whether it's the meds or diet making the difference.
