    Curalin

Anybody tried Curalin supplements? They claim to help reduce blood sugars. Reviews on their website states people have reduced or completely come off their meds? Any thoughts

Which drink product - Newcastle Diet?

I stopped when my step son came to stay with us for half term. He has a poor diet when he's at his mum's (lots of processed and sugary food), and it was important to me to set a good example. It's difficult to encourage him to eat a healthy balanced diet if all he sees me eating is milkshake...

Which drink product - Newcastle Diet?

I stuck with it for 6 weeks, and lost a stone in weight and reduced my hba1c from 109 to 68.

Which drink product - Newcastle Diet?

Hi PerfectStorm I've just completed the ND diet. I used the Slimfast Shakes which are 35g carbs and 31g sugars per serving! Like you I was worried about how this would affect my control as I can't tolerate carbs, but it had no adverse effects at all. Maybe cos we're not eating anything else...

The Good, the Bad and the Ugly

Hi guys Mixed feelings this week, and struggling a little. The good news is, my hba1c last week was 68 (was 109 in March), so although still high, a lot better than it was. The bad news is, I've got Shingles, which is leaving me feeling run down and quite sore. My readings this week have been...

    Starting Insulin

Weighed myself again this morning and I've lost half kilo from Saturdays weight.. so yesterday must have been water retention or something, like you said BooJewels. So feeling much more positive today and will ignore yesterdays weight all together.. and refrain from weighing myself more than...

    Starting Insulin

Ok, so been on Insulin a week now... started at 10 units daily, now up to 14 units. Sugars are going down, but slowly. Fasting reading was 6.8 this morning, so quite good... my target is 4 - 6, so just a little bit high. Rather disappointed that I've gained weight this week though! I'm on...

    Starting Insulin

Well, just got back from Diabetic Clinic. I'm now the proud owner of an insulin pen! As my sugar's aren't "too bad", she's started me on Lantus Solostar, which is a 24 hr insulin. So only 1 injection a day. With a low starting dose of 10 units, to be reviewed at the end of the week. So...

    Starting Insulin

Thanks for your replies everyone. Will see what she says tomorrow. In the meantime, anyone have any ideas why my sugars are higher in the morning than at bedtime when I haven't done or eaten anything? For example, last night my sugars were 6.8 at bedtime which was only 2 hours after eating...

    Starting Insulin

No idea Anna... I saw her for the 1st time last week and she stopped my tablets apart from the Metformin, with the intention of starting me on insulin when I go back to see her Tuesday this week. But she didn't say what type of insulin. Silly me has been worrying about it all week :(

    Starting Insulin

the needles don't bother me.... Insulin just feels complicated somehow. Tablets are easy, the doc tells you your dosage and I've just got to remember to take them. Is insulin a set dose or do I need to adjust depending on my levels and what I'm eating?

    Starting Insulin

Hi everyone I'm fairly new to the forum and this is my first post (so be kind lol) I was diagnosed with Type 2 about 7 years ago, and admittedly haven't been a very good diabetic. Got started on Metformin, Glimepiride and Sitagliptin last year, which has helped although my hba1c is still too...
