    Has it come back?

    No problem mike, I'm just confused as to why readings were unusual for me. I have had a fever but getting over it now so I'm hoping after Christmas readings will return to normal? I'm going to order new strips for another Meter I have, then see what happens. My next hba1c is not until June.

    That's just the point Mike D. I do test, I always have its not any food that's causing it. Never tried changing the battery Andrew?     Mike D then what's the point of testing if ones diet controlled? So testing doesn't mean you control only monitor, so why bother to "hate" if/when you do??

    "Andbreath" then what's the point in self testing? Brunnera yes I've had a cold and thought of that, but after 2 months still no change. So is it worth bothering about testing considering Andbreath reply, Btw same pot......Prior to cold and after.

    In the morning it was always 5 - 6.0 as I said Dr said I'd reversed it, now morning reading has been in the 7s fir no reason.

    Hba1c was 5.3 in July, my diet has never changed, low carb i don't eat desserts or sweets of any sugar products. Always tested before and after meals in the last year never been higher than 5.5 - 7.5 Recently as high as 8.9 after meals I've prepared and ate dozens of times.

    Reversed

    Because I asked the author of the book reverse your diabetes the question reversed or cured? His reply was he wouldn't go as far as saying cured but reversed is possible based on a glucose tolerence test. My next hb1ac is end of June wondered if I should ask for a GTT to see if it's reversed?

    Blood pressure

    My BG seems ok steady 5.5ish, my cholestrial last checked was 3.5 but my blood pressure is generaly around 160/80 home testing. ive lost weight, excercise every day, have a few pints at weekends aged 67 diabetic for a year? No meds apart from satin. How can i get it down? Is it an age thing?

    I know it's not high but I've managed to keep between 5-7 for months through diet and only check around 2-3 times a day, today was 8.8 a big jump for me so suddenly never did of ate anything different that I can put it down too

    no I'm not a doctor, but I am diabetic and listen to mine! You obviously don't. Before I changed my diet my doctor whom I listen to told me I had a 65% chance of a stroke! After three months my hba1c blood pressure and cholesterol all vastly reduced. So you decide, what is scaremongering...

    Start eating a healthy balanced diet. Otherwise, if your not already diabetic your on that road. Including high cholesterol, high blood pressure. In fact probably and ideal candidate for a stroke.

    My cholesterol was 5.9 when first diagnosed a1c 7.9 I don't want medication so decided to go on diet only. for that to work the cholesterol HAS to be as normal as possible. I took statins cut down on dairy food and three months later cholesterol 3.5 and hba1c 6.0. Still test regularly BG average...
