not quite endorsing LCHF, but not far off

Good to see something positive like this in the mainstream which helps to banish the myth that fat is bad.

Type 1 not allowed circuit training

Don't worry Zand and thanks. I can spot a lonely guy on a forum who stays up late posting question marks on a forum a mile away. He has made a lot of posts containing zero information and seems rather pleased with himself for doing so. I will not judge this forum on one spoiler. Good night.

You really think I would respond to that ?

You make no sense. You continue to ignore my questions, you continue to make unsubstantiated claims. You have written a lot about nothing and you have read but not understood. You have bickered but not advised. So, are you suggesting OP can demand to participate in a gym activity ? If so, please...

Type 1 not allowed circuit training

I'm a T1 myself. Am I missing something ? Douglas, I guess I must have upset you in a past life. Don't go through life so bitter. So your suggestion to OP is to "quote the Equality Act 2010". Should this be done in full of just those words ? This act consists of 116 seperate pieces of law and...

Type 1 not allowed circuit training

I totally agree and I think I'm getting a bit of a bashing for no reason really but no problem. Your best course of action would be to do exactly as you suggest and speak with manager and explain things. Discuss your control, the pump and your doctors letter. My legal remarks earlier were only...

But you haven't answered anything yourself ? Do you really think by ignoring everything I ask then responding with a ? is a valid post ?

Are you getting me mixed up with someone else ? Did I call anyone a second class citizen and where did I say T1's or T2's are treated differently ? Strange.

Douglas, you are so tiresome. You claim to have "trumped me" by quoting an Act but nothing in it. You accused me of having a "rant" with no reply. I have made my response earlier informing you that it is the responsibility of the fitness centre for all members of the public who train there. If...

I understand your anger but I'm just saying you can't demand participation. I apologise for myself and Douglas for detracting from your original post.

OK, show me the paragraph in the Equality Act.

Rant at you ? You said "I was too far up myself" It seems clear you see every thread as a battle for what reason ?

Type 1 not allowed circuit training

I'm not sure why I'm now coming under attack for trying to help out ? There is no particular law that specifically states a T1 can't participate in a class but every gym has rules and they all contain a paragraph similar to: "You must comply with any request made by members of staff in relation...

Type 1 not allowed circuit training

Hi Dave. It is covered by Health & Safety and Public Liability. The owner or manager of any gym or fitness centre is ultimately responsible. If they deem a particular class not suitable for a diabetic, you cannot demand to attend and show a doctors note. You may well try reasoning with them but...

Type 1 not allowed circuit training

Wow ! Do you just look for my posts to try to find fault ? OK, I am a lawyer, I agree a doctor can declare a diabetic, or anyone else, fit to take exercise or join a gym. However, the onus is on the gym firstly to accept the doctors advice, secondly, to decide what sort of exercise is suitable...

Type 1 not allowed circuit training

Legally, there's nothing you can do. The manager is well within his/her right to say a risk assessment was carried out and the result is they are unhappy for you to participate in that class. Similarly, they are allowed to prevent diabetics from entering saunas and spas. No point arguing the...

LCHF diet to help you lose weight, not diabetes

Question about raising your blood sugar before exercise

I would reduce insulin with meal prior to exercise it may take some experimenting to get ratio and BG levels right but better this than have to treat a hypo.

I wouldn't have told them and just joined in. Hate being treated different and made to feel "delicate". Health & safety gone mad as usual. Can you not provide a letter from your doc saying you are OK to exercise ? Often, that is all they want, to cover themselves.

going for Chinese meal - help?

Vodka is good. As for Chinese, it's a special occasion so I wouldn't worry too much. Eat what you fancy but leave some of the rice. Lastly, whilst everyone else drives home, you can walk haha ( only joking ).
