    My advice is eat normal and change portions sizes so 18units will cover that meal and not worrying if hypo later or high sugars high over long periods will cause damage over the years blood vessels in eyes etc never going to be perfect in life but it does not have to be handicap

    Hi maybe if he needs 24 hour sugar ops to give you an idea of his sugar levels before and after meals to see if he is not getting enough carbohydrate to stop low sugars every few hours . Good luck
